There's a friend of mine, an older lady who had to fly this past week and BOTH times she had to board, she was pulled out of line and felt up searched. I'm sorry but I won't subject myself to that kind of humiliation. There isn't anywhere I need to be that bad!

That still begs the question, if the guy next to you stands up and pulls a weapon, is he a friendly or a terrorist? Do you let him shoot someone (The real terrorist??? An innocent passenger???) or do you coldcock him? (Thereby saving an innocent passenger? or allowing a terrorist free reign?) I imagine it would depend on his apearance if there were no other clues, like what he was shouting. Or do you expect anyone to just stand up on a plane in flight and draw down randomly on someone in silence. And if he is silent, I would cap him for stupidity.
Nully, you have lived in the very heart of Kalbania for too long. Everyone who can pass a background check should always be armed

Nully - have you lived in SoCal all your life? My God, I did not know that it was called LaLa land for nothing. Move to Ms or AL, or TX or somewhere that some common freakin sense is available to your otherwise bright brain.
Come join us, please. You can do much better than this. Otherwise please do not post to threads where there is talk of weapons of any kind of destuction. Mass or mortal. You really don't get it. Thanks, and regards.

"The hijackings of 9/11 were done by crazy people, but they weren't stupid. They were carefully planned" It's very telling though that they apparently neglected to plan for the possibility of passengers fighting back...and in the instance where they did, their "mission" was a failure.

We both feel an uneasiness and have a sense that something big is about to happen. Gee what would give you that idea ...

Do you know of anyone who had an uneasy feeling like that on September 10? You know I had a bad feeling in my gut right before 9/11 .. I just didn't know why
I can't say I have that feeling this time .. but I do think something is up

Loddy, I've been trying to tell him that for months that he he should grab the kids and get the heck out while there is still hope for all of them. There is something in the air or water or something there that erodes the brain.

I know that the passengers are chosen randomly for searches, but I don't believe it serves any useful purpose. So they pull aside 3-year-olds and 85-year-olds in wheelchairs and in some cases, they are strip-searched. I don't believe that this is a deterrent to anyone who is bent on destruction. They'll cruise on by while grannie is being groped, and I don't feel one whit safer. I have only flown once since Sept. 11, and will avoid flying as much as possible.

Assuming you're speaking of an "armed, undercover sky marshall.
First, he wouldn't be standing up and pulling a weapon unless he perceived a serious threat. In that case, no doubt the rest of us would also be aware of who was the good guy and who was the bad guy. Second, he is a trained professional law enforcment officer and I feel certain he could effectively convey that point. Whether it's an armed sky marshall or a uniformed pilot I would know we were on the same side. I trust their ability to assess and react to the situation correctly along with their years of experience over that of a flight attendant.

I was supposed to fly to Germany after 9/11. I was not required to go. I chose not to. If it is at all possible, I will not fly again. Good thing I don't mind long drives cross country! LOL.

Anybody see that clip of Gore on H & C? What a putz! He is spewing the same old rhetoric as in 2000 and added to it a couple of lines stolen from Bush. Dick Armey just said he doesn't like liberals because they are shallow and noisy and mean!!! I LOVE IT!!!!! ROTFL!!
To: sweetliberty; darlin'
I just re-read my post. I sound really cranky. Sorry. I'm just tired, I guess, and really irritated with the state of our so-called "airport security". It truly is a joke. It is just cosmetic, designed to make the sheeple "feel" secure. Ooops. There I go again. Sorry. Guess I need a glass of wine. I have a bottle of chardinnay cooling as we speak.

LOL! I love this guy. Colmes is like "thank you for joining us for that nice round of liberal bashing!" Hehehe. Dick Armey said Gore hadn't had a new idea that appealed to the American people since Moby Dick was a minnow. Okay, we won't tell him that Moby Dick was NEVER a minnow. It was still funny.

I know that the passengers are chosen randomly for searches, but I don't believe it serves any useful purpose. The only purpose it serves is letting people THINK that they are doing something
With all the tech and money the can't find better ways to do secuirty???

I have to work early so I don't dare go for the wine, however I am thinking of making a run to the store for some Ben and Jerry's. That might be a good substitute.

Speaking of liberal bashing, I think I'll run over and take a peek at the DU and see what the RATS are chattering about in these trying times.
