ouuuuch. Boo hoo, Swervie. I was working in the yard this afternoon and walked into a nest of ants. I must have a dozen stings on my right foot and a couple of fast moving ones got my left thigh and left elbow. I was all over the same area of the yard Saturday afternoon and that nest wasn't there. Arrrgh, the joys of a Louisiana spring.

The Food network has finally figured out what is important. This is Couch Potato Weekend. Every show will be on the potato. There is even an Iron Chef potato battle. I may have to tape the whole weekend.

Benadryl, lotsa Benadryl. They make a pump spray that is alcohol based and especially good on insect bites, or just sprayed over a glass of cold Gin to make a true Southern Martini.

A couple a capsules and some spray will usually fix it unless you found fire ants

I don't know anyone who had a feeling something big and bad was about to happen just before Sept. 11... if I did I think I would call that person everyday to see how he or she was "feeling."

I don't think they were fire ants, they were too small and brown and the bites aren't blistering. Right now I have all the places coated with a paste made of meat tenderizer and water. That stopped the itching but it's messy. LOL. My foot and thigh looks like I've been playing in the sand and I'm leaving a trail when I walk. FOFL.

You may have somthing here. The Oracle at Delphi made her prophecies after inhaling toxic smoke. Maybe it is the ant toxin that does it. Did the ants glow in the dark? Would you consider trying this again tomorrow? For confirmation.

Yes, it was before the ant attack. :) LOL. However, we've both had the same feeling for several days now and our sense is that it pertains to the Middle East rather than yard critters. FOFL.
