Palestinian President Yasser Arafat (L), seen in a picture handed out by his office, meets with U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell in Arafat's Ramallah office April 14, 2002. Powell, scrambling to put his peace mission back on track, rescheduled a meeting with Arafat for today after the Palestinian leader met U.S. demands that he denounced terrorism. (Hussain Hussain/Reuters)

Arafat's office is handing out this picture - the international press is printing it. This has raised his esteem around the globe. It serves Arafart's purpose. It is destructive to Israel and the US in the propaganda war - and propaganda boosts the illiterate and hate-filled terrorists of Arafart's world. We cannot afford to lengthen this preliminary battle another day... it weakens us.

What is missing is the dialog. Powell is telling Arafat that there is no Malt Liquor left in the Refrigerator Case and asking him to bring some more from the back.

"my computer is in the kitchen .. "

Now, that's what I call practical. You can cook and FReep at the same time. Oh, I forgot, cooking isn't your thing. Never mind.

Computer and cooking....all in the kitchen.....while cooking may not be Mo's forte, just think how it sounds to the inlaws when Hubby answers the door and Mo yells out, "C'mon in--I'm out in the kitchen".....sheesh, that buys her time to type something here about having to play mommy or somethin' and then she can bring up the latest on Martha Stewart's web site or some gourmet cooking recipe!!

That girl ain't dumb....may be a Northerner, but not a dumb one. :)

The Israelis have captured 4,000 Palestinians? What do they do with them? Castrate them, then bus them to Baghdad. Write a folk song about it.

Good morning everyone. Thought I'd post a photo of the Admiral's House on Mare Island. It is being restored, and there is a lovely garden in the back. I don't have photos of the garden.

Mornin' Cheri. Nice picture. I really enjoy the photo sharing. It's kinda like we all get to share each others' experiences.

Wasn't/isn't Mare Island a Naval station...or a shipyard? In the Frisco Bay? My Dad was a welder in the shipyards up at/around Richmond during WWII.

Yes, I enjoy it too. There are some terrific old Victorian houses on Mare Island. One of these days I'll photograph some of the industrial areas - those are tough, because of the scale of the facilities. they are HUGE. They built and did maintence on submarines there, so you can imagine the size of the cranes, the dry docks, and the buildings.

No but I can pretend to cook .. hehe

I had to put it here because of Carly .. when she was smaller I couldn't let her in the basement with all the crap toys the older ones played with ..

Then there is the fact I wasn't getting anything done using the computer downstairs

Mare Island was a submarine base, been closed since the mid-90's and is being released for civilian and other government use. There is medical school on the base now. It is northeast of San Francisco, part of the city of Vallejo. It's an interesting place to visit. Lots of old buildings, a couple of interesting parks, exotic vegetation (a lot of the officers would collect trees and shrubs where they were deployed, brought them back and planted them on the island).
