You sure they hadn't figured out how to smoke cocaine back then? Most drug users will find some way, somehow to get it in the body!! But you may be right on that one. I just know the article sounded reasonable to me too. It said, that the whallop just wiped out a group of brain stem cells immediately! You sure they hadn't figured out how to smoke cocaine back then? Yes, they smoked it, but the Free Base process was the only one known at that time to make cocaine smokable. It is the one that toasted Richard Pryor.
About 15 years ago the drug barrons had the Crack cocaine process developed by a brilliant renegade chemist. That is what made smokeing cocaine a cheap drug for the lower classes instead of a very expensive process for the rich.
