Oh watching these overpaid flashy liberals basking in self-importance doesn't do a thing for me. But I do appreciate real talent and like to see it rewarded. It will be interesting to see if talent actually wins out tonight. I may check out the thread. The awards tend to be fairly dull between actual presentations in my opinion.

Yeah! I was down in LA.. the hoity toity part last Nov to meet some Brits for lunch. Then we went for a strolllllllll right past Harry Winston's posh place where some of these stars rent the jewels they wear for these praise ourselves events. What a store! Actually we were in Beverly Hills...prices higher than a cat's back everywhere there. The shops are elegant... But some of the stars have no taste.. they think they just look mavhhalous ( trying to sound posh there..) and they look just awful... hair sticking up in a million directions, belly buttons on display, boobs falling out of the tops of dresses, odd tux on the men.. it's a freak show!( except for the diamonds)

Oscar ThreadYou need to see this if only for the time it took to set it up. Amazing.

Hi, Puppy,
Spring is trying to sprung.. but it has been cold and windy and raining too. I hope the Easter Bunny doesn't freeze his cotton tail off next weekend. I want my eater basket!

Oh, Has Crusher been tippy toeing in your garden yet?

I think I may gag if I see any more gushing on the Oscar thread. I guess it takes a lot more than a collection of "Barbie" dolls in dresses with ill-fitted tops and high-priced jewelry to make me gush.

I had fun at the Golden Globes thread, it's the only thing that makes these silly shows worthwhile -- dissing the stars live online. *LOL* I can't resist the Academy Awards thread tonight.
To: ValerieUSA
But it should have been accompanied by a serious barf alert! Some of these people are really into these clowns! I appreciate beauty and class and talent, but I don't see too many examples of it at the Academy Awards.

HOWDY ... I survived another day ... I think

Well, I can't speak for everybody else but I was watching hoping to see Lord of the Rings get some of the glory it really deserved, but as could be expected, class and quality is lost on that crowd. They were robbed by some of the cheap trash. OK, I haven't actually SEEN any of the others but I have seen enough to know they were not in the least appealing.

Nighty night Mo. The secret to enjoying a live award show thread is to not take it seriously. *LOL* It's fun.
Now for the big question: Got Milk? ... no. I must go to the store so we can have a morning here tomorrow.

Inside Politics: News and political dispatches from around the nation.
"You gotta love this: Likely candidates for the 2004 Democratic presidential nomination are already mocking each other," Paul Bedard writes in the Washington Whispers column of U.S. News & World Report.
"Take Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle's poke at Massachusetts Sen. John Kerry during the Gridiron Club dinner. 'John Kerry's been doing great; I wonder about his new campaign slogan: "Vote for the tall Dukakis."' Says a Kerry fan: 'Sage advice from the short McGovern.'"
