These are the Anti-Atlas Mountains, part of the Atlas Mountain range in southern Morocco, Africa. The region contains some of the world’s largest and most diverse mineral resources, most of which are still untouched.
This image was acquired by Landsat 7’s Enhanced Thematic Mapper plus (ETM+) sensor on June 22, 2001. This is a false-color composite image made using shortwave infrared, infrared, and red wavelengths.

What rock types/minerals can be assinged to the different colors?That would be a question for the geologists (but I do remember that copper minerals have some pretty strong colors).
