The reason I want to reload everything is because my teenage sisters loaded so much junk on there that the system is REALLY bogged down at times. I don't know if I could ever get it all out.

So I figured it would just be faster to reload everything. Thanks for the tip about making sure I have a boot disk, I will make one just in case.

I have all of the software discs that came with the system, I will inventory them to make sure I have everything I need before I start.

I also called the local Gateway store to price 64 more megs of RAM. They have a 64 meg chip for $39. Is that a fair price?

You do need more RAM... but you have to know what you're doing to install that. I've seen so many people get it in backwards, fry it, bash it, or damage it in other ways... look, is there a technogeek somewhere in your area who you could ask to fix your machine for a minimal fee?
