We probably do have good schools. There are a lot of good schools! - And this is a good place! Check out University of Washington for a public school... Seattle University for private. I don't know how to compare graduate schools.

I'd suggest U. of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (Home of HAL 9000), but it may be closer than 600 miles.

Why 600? Why not 500, or 300? Just curious.
