I love all the new scenes too! I think a lot of depth was added to all the characters. The theatrical version didn't give us a lot of reason to care about the "lesser" members of the fellowship, like Legolas and Gimli. Both were given some more depth. As was Aragorn.

And if you like Arwen as she was in FoTR, then I especially would not worry about TTT... She isn't gonna be Xena. I trust PJ on that! - I still think you should have a seedcake and a pint! - Not because I said so, but because it is the right thing to do! ;~D

I have never been afraid that Arwen was going to be Xena (who I like by the way... yes, I admit it...). My concern is that she will be forced where she doesn't belong.

I have two things going for me... PJ is translating the book to the screen beautifully, and Liv Tyler is a gifted actress who loves her character. I trust them both.

I don't like seed cake. Can I have chocolate cake instead?
