Actually, GWTW is an interesting study of people who do not learn from the lessons life teaches them and therefore do not grow up. I know lots of people like them. They are just like Scarlett. She wouldn't know the truth or happiness if she met it on the street.

I don't consider it a soap opera. I think it is a very well written book on the impact of the Civil War and Reconstruction on Atlanta.

I'da called it somethin' worse... couldn't stand it... and couldn't and haven't watched the whole flick... mind numbing drivel about immature, selfish, self centered people living wasted lives... sounds alot like a soap to me...
