Did you just call GWTW a soap opera?

I'da called it somethin' worse... couldn't stand it... and couldn't and haven't watched the whole flick... mind numbing drivel about immature, selfish, self centered people living wasted lives... sounds alot like a soap to me...

I am not surprised, g'nad, that you don't like GWTW!

I have never seen it. Nor read it. Can you believe that? And I am a chick!

Oh, no. The book is wonderful. The movie is horrible melodrama terribly overacted (style of the day)

I think you will like the book. It is very good.

Like I said, the movie is bad.

I watched the whole thing once. I liked the photography and Clark was something nice to look at....

Now, now g'nad. Just like we tell the cave trolls, it's okay to not like something (cave trolls and LOTR, g'nad and GWTW) without trashing it for everyone else...

GWTW is a sappy romance to be sure. But it's an interesting (and fairly accurate) study of the people and that era in the south.
