I'm making Christmas decorations from them...

I read somewhere that they are great for hanging on branches to keep birds off your fruit trees or bushes. The sunlight catches on the shiny surface and makes flashes of light. Has anyone tried that?

Probably depends on the bird. Aren't magpies attracted to shiny things? Or is that bluejays?

Haven't tried that, but they are great for reflecting the light.
