Hey all! I've been struggling lately with not spending enough time with my kids and with going to bed too late at night...and I wanted to let you know that I'm going to be backing off of Free Republic for a while. I do want to keep up, but it seems lately things move so fast and I'm busy with schooling the boys that I miss huge sections before I know it!

So, before the Two Towers comes out, I'm going to take some time off of Free Republic as a whole for a while. Even my homeschool threads seem beyond me and I feel lost most the time!

I'll still be part of the Yahoo Hobbit Hole, so if anything is going on that you (in the Hole) think I should know about, somebody give me a heads up!

I'll be back in time for a good discussion of the Two Towers, though...I promise!

I understand completely, 2Jm. Yours is much more mom-intensive schooling than ours is. My kids are most self-sustained. I give them their list of things to do and they do it on their own. My job is providing resources and discussing their reading and history assignments with them. We'll miss you, but DO pop in from time to time.

Hey, before you go, I just wanted to share something.

Just because my wife teaches at a public school doesn't mean we send our kids there. We actually send them to a private Missouri Synod sponsored Lutheran school and we have a lot of friends who homeschool so we have great respect for that. I know homeschoolers sometimes tend to feel beleaguered by all of the additional pressures associated with that choice, and I wanted to let you know you are doing a marvelous thing....Take care....

Golly, I go away for an hour and a half, the 'Hole turns into a forum for political discussion and 2JM announces she's leaving. Yikes! Talk about moving fast!

I have difficulty keeping up, too, and have had to choose which threads I devote time to. I keep poking along, and enjoy what I can. The Hobbit Hole ... well, ... sigh.
