As I remember it, Picard went back and fetched a (very) reluctant Kirk, who was, as usual, indulging himself in a fantasy. Than Picard coordinated the battle, and arranged it so Kirk was the dead hero and he himself was the live hero. Guts AND brains (maybe he isn't really French).
Hmm, brains certainly... not sure how gutsy it is to make sure the other guy gets killed, though.
So what did you think of Sisko? :)
Why don't we wait until after the DVD is released in August? We can comment on it, but there wouldn't be as many comments as there will be for the extended version. That way, we don't get too close to the 65K mark, then we can start a new thread before the extended version and TTT are released. Then we can start this fun all over again!!
With the subsequent success of the franchise, I'll bet she kicks herself in the butt every day!!
A late good morning. I slept in until almost 9, then went on errands and chores. So now I have a three hour window until work - but I'll probably be on late again. It's too fun!
That's why I can't wait for the DVD. I think I'll notice a lot moreif everything is going on on the smaller screen right in front of me. I've seen in 5 times in the theater now, so I think I've gotten the full screen advantage. LOL! Now I'd like to concentrate on the little things. I did notice the ring shrinking the first time; thought that was a cool effect. The ring seemed to be shaping itself to make it more 'wearable', to whoever had it, thus making them more easily controlled.
I believe she felt that working a TV series would hurt his movie career.
They had to finally off him. The budget for the material for his uniforms and his hairpieces was bankrupting them...
You're exactly right about the Ring of Barahir that Aragorn wears. No fair! I'm the Elf history expert here!
hehe, I only knew it because I read the earlier discussion here about that ring... and I can't resist showing off what I learn! :)
And because you slept in you snipe at Bear? Bear was kind enough to help me out. Are you an Elf with an attitude? Had the precious a few too many times?
Gee, I saw the movie at 9:30 last night, came back and posted after 1:00 a.m., then got up with my son (who also saw the movie last night) at 6:00 a.m. to get him off to the last day of school.
And I'm twice your age. (and I'm feeling every year of it).
Thanks to both of you for knowing the answer to my question.
(Thanks for the book lists too)
Naahhh....that never happens! :)
Interesting, but waay too much angst, and a rather pronounced Messiah complex, IMHO!
After you have played Christ, just commanding a Starship is quite a comedown, it seems to me.
Well that is my current opinion also, Hair doesn't feel strongly about it, I think. Anyone else want to chime in here?
Hair is feeling too lazy to even get on the fence.
-Still a tired hobbit.
I say we ride this thing until it crashes. I don't think it was started as a specifically FoTR related thread, so I see no need to rush to change merely because TTT will be out soon (I wish).
Nevertheless if it is the will of the council to switch after the August DVD release then so be it. Gondor will see it done. ;^)
Always cheating the system, always thinking/operating outside the box, that's what I love about Kirk.
That's my feeling too...
I mean, if people want a new hole because we want a new one, go for it! Otherwise, I'm not really sure what all the fuss is about...but then, I'm from the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" camp. ;) Besides, I like making our post count go higher and higher...
