I don't mind get wet - just not hit by lightning, or run off the road because some moron can't drive in rain. From inside it looks nice and pretty.

Have you read the books? Yes. And I wouldn't recommend seeing the movie without reading the books first. I think what I liked best about the movie were the visuals. And I just like Maggie Smith.

You have to boil them in really salty water, then suck on the softened shell to get all the good juice out before you open it to get the peanut! I take it you have to eat them as soon after boiling as possibe. I meant to try boiling peanuts once but opted for the aroma of roasting peanuts instead. BTW for those of you not able to/inclined to grow your own peanuts, you can buy them raw in the produce section.

Right, I don't think you'd enjoy the HP movies at all without having read the books (I have read all of them and oddly they haven't led me into satanism. Too bad, I was looking forward to actually learning some curses.)
I guess it's just the quality of material - LotR is so much better than HP, naturally the one movie is going to be superior to the other.

I was pretty annoyed by how cheesy Rocky and Bulwinkle was until I reminded myself how cheesy the show was. Moose and cheese movie!

Big quality difference. LOTR is literature. HP is entertainment.

Now that I've gotten my flowers in the ground, I wouldn't mind some rain as long as it's dry enough for me to do gardening stuff next weekend.

Which "other" thread is that? Is there an active "Harry Potter is of the Devil and causes children to kill their pets" thread? Cool!
Hehe... Rocky and Bullwinkle was a cheesy movie, wasn't it? At least the moose didn't bite anyone...

Which "other" thread is that? I meant over at the religious wars. No current Potter is the anti-Christ threads that I'm aware of. But the DVD is being release in a couple of weeks.
We can only hope. ;-)

Talk about yelling "fire" in a crowded theater...
To: Corin Stormhands
More like yelling "witch", I'd say. After all, it's only one step from banning Harry Potter to banning Lord of the Rings...

Was that a random "witch" comment or did you see
this?
To: Corin Stormhands
Thanks for the "heads up" on that. I figured it would be strictly light-weight entertainment, but it's nice to know that for sure ahead-of-time.
Now I have another friend who wants to go see a movie today. Think I can talk her into seeing FOTR again? She has only seen it twice...
To: JenB
But there are huge, important differences between the two, IMO...
...and that's as far as I'm getting into this discussion.... :o

Hullo! Installing the software on my machine went flawlessly. No problems at all!
Took my brother on a wonderful tour of my pasture fenceline where I noted some summer maintenance that will need to be done... and then let him take me to the feed store (the feed store is my very favorite place) to buy horse food, new fly masks for horses and wormer paste. Would have bought more but we were in his new Mustang convertable, which is not good for shopping at farm supply stores. Went to the old tavern for chicken and joes afterwards and came home via the back roads where he could drive too fast without fear of "the man". What did you gals/guys all do today?
To: HairOfTheDog
Didn't do much. Let the cat out. Put in some herbs and flowers. Let the cat in. Drove home. Fed the cat. Let the cat out. Messed around on the computer. Let the cat in. Made/ate pizza. Cleaned the kitchen. Watched baseball. :)

OK html scholars... I am preparing the Moria post... and I want to have the proper name for chapter 5 appear, so I am trying to figure out
how to make the html for the symbol over the U!
I found this code "& ucirc" (no space after the &) in a search which does give me a û when used by itself. But when it is in the middle of a word it gives me this:
Chapter V The Bridge of Khazad-Dûm
or this: Chapter V The Bridge of Khazad-D<û>m if I put < > around it
or this: Chapter V The Bridge of Khazad-D û m if I just add spaces around it....
I am out of guesses on how to format it, and I bet one or all of you guys know how to do this. Help!

I bet the cat would like in/out again by now! ;~D I love it when it is nice out like it is today. I can just leave the door open so the pets can wander in and out at will. They still seem to like the doorway itself the best. Cat is asleep in the doorway at the moment.

I can just leave the door open so the pets can wander in and out at will.I have a pet door in the garage, and keep the door to the garage open, so our pets (only s poodle now), go in and out when they want.
