You have to boil them in really salty water, then suck on the softened shell to get all the good juice out before you open it to get the peanut!

I take it you have to eat them as soon after boiling as possibe. I meant to try boiling peanuts once but opted for the aroma of roasting peanuts instead. BTW for those of you not able to/inclined to grow your own peanuts, you can buy them raw in the produce section.

I'm not sure about that. It seemed those you got on the side of the road had been sitting there 'stewing' for a while. I've never boiled any myself; Sir SuziQ doesn't like peanuts, so I just never tried it. But I do remember the taste; YUM!
