I think Gandalf would like it although I don't know where he would hang it. You could get Arwen to teach the class!

I think he has a little closet of a room in the basement(dungeon) of the Tower of Ecthelion. I'm sure there is room enough in there. Although if there isn't I'm sure we could knock a wall out and enlarge his closet into a cubicle.

Your question made me think, where DOES Gandalf live? He can't be out galavanting across the countryside 365 days a year, can he?

He's bummed off of Bilbo and Frodo staying at Bag End often enough! Gandalf the Moocher.

So I take it that you would recommend Tolkien's letters to people to read? ;^)

Gandalf the Moocher.

Gandalf the Grey Moocher, or, to keep current, Gandalf the White Moocher. Or does that sound too racist? ;^)

GANDALF THE MOOCHER

Folks, here´s a story about Gandalf the Moocher
He was a real live hoochie-koocher
He was the roughest, toughest frail
but Gandalf had a heart as big as a wha-a-le

Hidee-Hidee-Hidee-hi()
Hodee-hodee-hodee-ho()
Heedey-hee-dee-hee-dee hee ()
Hidee-hidee-hidee-ho()

He hung around with a bloke named Strider
He liked him though he was Tookey
He took him down to Breetown
Where he showed him how to kick the Nazgul around ()

Hidee-Hidee-Hidee-hi()
Wooooooh()
Heedey-hee-dee-hee-dee hee ()
Hidee-hidee-hidee-ho()

He had a dream about the King of Rohan
He gave him things that he was needin´
A palace home built of stone and steel
A diamond chariot with platinum wheels

hidee-hidee-hidee-hidee-hidee-hidee-hi()
hodee-hodee-hodee-hodee-hodee-hodee-ho()
scoodley-woo-scoodley-woo-scoodley-woodley-woodley-woo()
zit-dit-dit-dit-dittle-but-dut-duttleoo-skit-dit-skittle-but-dit-zoy()

He gave him his tower and his racing horses
Each meal he ate was a dozen courses
He had a million coins of silver and gold
He sat around and counted them until Smaug was old

Hidee-Hidee-Hidee-hi()
Hodee-hodee-hodee-ho()
Heedey-hee-dee-hee-dee hee ()
Hidee-hidee-hidee-ho()

Poor Gan, Poor Gan, Poor Gan.

(Apologies to Cab Calloway)

I leave the preciousss to you. I am off to have dinner with the family and then go see the kids get their awards from participating in our church's AWANA program.

I'll try to check in later.

That confounded &#%&@*&$% blasted &#%&@*&$% ridiculous &#%&@*&$% moronic &#%&@*&$% asinine @%&#%&@*&$%@ PETITION just got airtime on MSNBC... MSNBC didn't give it any weight, and quoted one of the signers who mocked it, but it just does not deserve airtime.

The actions of any one particular moron in this country is almost never NEWS.

You know, not to be Pollyana-ish, but this may not be all bad. There may be non-Tolkien fans out there who might have wondered if The Two Towers was being used to cash in on 9/11. With stuff like this coming out now, it can be de-bunked and it gives LOTR even more airtime.

As long as they present it accurately, explaining how stupid the petition is, I think it's going to completely backfire on the petitioner.

Thanks for posting the picture, a bit surprised the knives are in separate sheaths and not attached to the quiver. Doubtless they would be easier to draw out than to replace. Now for a closer shot of the quiver, wonder what the design on the quiver is. AHHH, for the dvds and frame by frame. Don't recall seeing a description of the quiver and its design. dvp

but.. but... I return you to my "one moron" statement! The actions of one moron is almost never news! I did notice late yesterday that, at least then, the publicity had not garnered a lot of new responses, either of the serious kind, or the mocking kind. I haven't been back there today.

I don't think the general public would ever have thought a fantasy movie, set in another world and another time with Wizards and Hobbits and... you know... would ever be "about" the WTC. Even if they were not familiar with the books. And if they did think that from the title, upon learning that it is a fantasy film, they would say... Oh, I guess it is about something else.

Let's just consider for a moment that someone DID write and release a movie about the WTC. WHY is that, on its face, disrespectful or insensitive? And to restate for the record, the WTC was never The Two Towers, but the Twin Towers. I say all this to get it out of my system because it ticks me off, not because I think you need to be told any of this... hehehehe < /rant > (for the moment) I may resume at any time)
