Yeah... and I would try to fit through the eye of a needle (or even shove my camel through it) if it would make me rich!

Hey, I got the precious fair and square! Yay! Now I'm going to bed. G'night!

If Tolkein had written about Southern-Earth lembas would've been Moonpies... There you go! I told 2JM on the other thread that the picture reminded me of a beignet (been-yay), a New Orleans delicacy. It is a yeast doughnut type dough you cut into squares, then fry. After they're fried, you dredge them in powdered sugar. They are oustanding with cafe au lait!!
She had said it looked like a sopapilla, which is the Southwest version of a beignet.

Anyway, my daughter's stuff was the best in the show, IMO :-) OF COURSE it was!! Glad you had a safe trip; good to have you back! And kudos to your daughter for her self-confidence in a showing of her work at such an early age, and up against one of her professors, no less!

I voted for the Green Dragon design.

Hey.... I missed this post about your daughter's show! If SuziQ hadn't commented I would have never seen it, It was buried in Lembas! Good for her... How neat! - Would love to see some of the photos if you have any you can post!
To: Sam Cree
Did you take any pictures of the event? I'd love to see that too!
To: SuziQ; HairOfTheDog; 2Jedismom
We did take pictures, and if my daughter will e-mail any of her stuff, I could post it.
Thanks for asking:-)
To: SuziQ; HairOfTheDog; 2Jedismom
Thanks, you guys, for your nice remarks :-)
To: Sam Cree
I hope she sends it!
I love photography, and how the world changes when you can stop it and study it.
I did quite a bit of photography too and was photo editor for my college newspaper. Not always fine art, and I did not have the talent that ecurbh has for landscapes, but I do good photos of people. Casual portraits. I have even done a couple weddings for friends.

Someone talking about me? My ears were burning. On a humourous note, I got my Dilbert newsletter today, and it had the results of his "weasel poll". I had to laugh at these results:
Weaseliest Organization
-----------------------
Democratic Party 5,727
Major League Baseball 4,118
White House 3,700
Congress 2,702
Republican Party 2,333
FBI 872

It sounds like you're good at it, specially if folks wanted you to do their weddings. So, I guess you'll take some moot photos?
ecurbh photographs landscapes? That's nice. We're a fine and estimable bunch of hobbits, I keep finding out.
To: SuziQ
I told 2JM on the other thread that the picture reminded me of a beignet Hmmm...you may be right...

Evening folks. Just winding down after rehearsal.
Stormhands family had a major meltdown this evening. We're okay, but talked through some of the crappy stuff tonite with Jr. Hopefully that will help.
G'nite.
To: ecurbh
I was talking about you! ;~D
To: All
Good night, All, see you guys in the morning.
To: Corin Stormhands
Oh I hope it does Corin! - I feel bad for the parents of teenagers that are anything like what I was! He'll be 22 and pleasant to be around eventually!
To: Sam Cree; ecurbh
He showed me some of them the other night! - Maybe if we stop talking about him like he isn't here, he would post some!
To: Sam Cree; All
Night all! How about a night-light?
To: ecurbh; HairOfTheDog
I'd like to see some of your landscapes, ecurbh, if you feel like posting any.
Come to think of it, you have posted very nice horse pictures, Hair.
Good night, all.
