There you go! I told 2JM on the other thread that the picture reminded me of a beignet (been-yay), a New Orleans delicacy. It is a yeast doughnut type dough you cut into squares, then fry. After they're fried, you dredge them in powdered sugar. They are oustanding with cafe au lait!!
She had said it looked like a sopapilla, which is the Southwest version of a beignet.
Hmmm...you may be right...
