I think I know who to put in charge of the menu for Entmoot....

Absolutely! But she'll need lots of helping hands for those kinds of spreads!!

Well, it's not looking good for my mom's poodle. Poor thing has so many disorders they are going to donate her to science (really!) You know, I babysat it yesterday and it looked pretty grim.

Poor beast has lived years and years longer than it should have (and well, too) because of my mom's tender care.

Poor thing. All old dogs must die... I have two on their way there, sometimes heading there quicker than other times... What do you mean donate it to science? - She is putting it down right?

We have several farms like that in this area. One near us has fruit picking from early summer on. They have strawberries, blueberries, peaches, raspberries, and TONS of apples. We like to go apple picking, and Sir SuziQ LOVES apple pies!

Today is our 27th Anniversary, so I need to bake a pie for tonight. I'll just go out to Tougas Farm and get some 'right off the tree' apples! He's taking me out to dinner, so we'll have the pie when we get back home!

I'll have to think about organizing a homeschool trip like that next year. That would be lots of fun! I haven't noticed anyone on our local message board doing anything like that this year. I'm sure individual families have gone out on their own. We do have a family that owns a strawberry farm, and they invited families out to do some berry picking this year, but we never got the chance to go.

But I figure after a 6 hour marinade in Spanish style mojo, and another 6 hours cooked covered in the oven

Stop that!! The drool is going to ruin my keyboard!!

Rosie, it is fantastic! What fun to have siblings you have something in common with.

I don't think it's perfectly punture free, even BEFORE I started on it.

Well, that's why they make drywall joint compound. Works like a charm, except it's a pain in the butt! You got to spread it, smooth it, wait for it to dry, sand it, then after all that, if it is nice and smooth, you can paint it! And if it's not nice and smooth, you can do all that over again! But after all that work, the wall will look GREAT when it is painted.

The painting isn't the hard part; the preparation is, right 2JM and ksen?

No worries!

I'll drag my hubby along with me for the Entmoot and he is a top-notch drummer!!

He can play along with ANYTHING! And he'd probably love trying his hand at a new percussion instrument.

I don't know. It's at the vet...has an IV and everything now. It has several genetic disorders that places like Texas A&M and OSU would like to study in the vet science depts.

I know when it gets too bad they'll put it down...but it's had a pretty good life, even though it's blind and incontinent. They put a diaper on it and stick it in a stroller and haul it with them everywhere they go.

Just the last few days, though...it just lays around. Doesn't get up at all. I would pick it up to take it to the bathroom and it would just wake up long enough to go and then it would lick me on the face and lay down and go back to sleep.

I trust I'll have lots of helping hands.

The ladies will be helping to set up the food, and the men will be helping by eating it!

OK! This is the first I've heard of this...I'm going to the hardware store this afternoon - hopefully they aren't too condescending or too sticky-sweet (one of the hardware stores has an old guy who calls all young women "honey" and is helpful but makes me nervous...) I'll ask 'em about this stuff!
