We haven't seen it, but we enjoyed Sandra Bullock in While You Were Sleeping.

Hey, you guys, I'm in trouble on another thread. Is there any time that who and whom can be interchangeable?

According to the style guide in Bookshelf 2000, the strict answer is no, but some grammarians say it's ok to do it in everyday speech and informal usage.

My wife the English teacher says they are not interchangeable in standard grammar, but they are in common language.

Gimli and Legolas did go to the Glimmering Caves at Helm's Deep, and to Mirkwood as well.

Not Mirkwood,, Fanghorn.

D'Oh! You're right. I should know better than to post strictly from memory... but when I'm posting at work I don't have a choice (sigh).

Looks like it's just us guys in here tonite. Would love to hang out and spill beer on the carpet and stuff. But I'm going to bed.

I just balanced the checkbook and figured out the bills for this week. Once I've paid everything I have cash left in the account.

I've obviously made a mistake and I'm going to bed to sleep on it...

See you guys tomorrow.

Keep it secret. Keep it safe.

I thought that movie was hilarious! Michael Caine was great trying to whip Sandra Bullock into shape for the contest. My favorite scene is when (in slow motion) she comes sauntering out of the airplane hanger looking drop dead gorgeous and FALLS DOWN because of the high heels. I thought I choke I was laughing so hard! I'll have to rent that DVD again!

I don't think so. Who is in the objective case; whom would be part of a prepositional phrase. Think object of the verb, (WHO is giving something) or object of the preposition, (TO WHOM will it be given) If you can use a preposition in the sentence, even implied, it would be 'whom'.

Any grammarians out there want to take a shot at this?
