I will check out the link... I may ask you questions about it... the RPGs are one of those "fear of the unknown" things for me.

I already have....something to tide me over. Besides, I can put off buying a DVD player for another 3 months.

No worries. As I said before (but may not have elucidated before), This is really more a strategy game than anything. the RPG aspect comes in with player interaction. So everyone who shreiked "Aaaa! A roleplayer!!" and stood on a chair, don't worry. Come on down and check this out.

Aaaaaa! A roleplayer!!! :)

Nevermind Overtaxed, She's a Took.
To: HairOfTheDog
And what's wrong with being a Took? According to that personality thing I'm one mixed up Took. :)
To: HairOfTheDog
At least I am not some Bumpkin Bracegirdle from Brandywine!

Didn't the announcements from a few weeks ago say that each DVD release would have 2 discs, one with anamorphic widescreen format and the other with tv-screen pan and scan?
I have already pre-ordered mine....I would want both versions anyway and why wait any longer than one has to? ;)
To: order_of_reason
Hmmm... it looks kinda interesting. Have you actually played it? More importantly, why does it cost so much? Most RPG systems I know about charge for the books but not to just let you play. $16 to start up is more than reasonable - but $6 a turn is sort of ridiculous, to me. I'd certainly be willing to try a RPG of some sort with my fellow Hobbits, but not for that kinda price... heck, how about
you pay me that much and I'll do an RPG from scratch, myself! I'll even let OT slaughter Elves for a mere $10 extra!
But if anyone's interested in this sort of thing and knows of any (cheaper) system, I'm game! Don't kill me for that pun!

hehehe - I did notice some anti-hobbit sentiment on that site also. They are Hobbit bashers!
To: JenB
It's tax season....I can't afford to pay $10/elf. Do you have a discount for a dozen Elves?
To: Overtaxed
Moriquendi or caliquendi? Tell you what, purchase the "bag a dozen Noldor" kit, and I'll throw in Haldir and the Snoots of Lorien absolutely Free!

How much are you selling the kit for? I could make a killing selling it to the Dwarves!
To: Overtaxed
No reselling, certainly not to Dwarves! I don't want to start a war and wipe out my whole product line. The Silvan elf version is $10/dozen; High Elves are an extra $5. By the way, it's pay before you hunt - if one of the Elves shoots you I want my ill-gotten gains safe!

No reselling? Bummer! I won't be able to support my elf-hunting habit. How much for Arwen?
To: JenB
Speaking of the "snoots of Lorien," has anyone tested out to be Haldir?
To: Overtaxed
She can be thrown in free with another packaged deal... make me an offer, but you have to guarantee her dead. Oh, and no shooting 'cool' Elves like Elrond. Besides they'd kill you first anyway.

Of course! Thin out the gene pool by killing all the losers. Just don't include Elrond in the package.
To: JenB
Truth be told there is a startup cost (I want to say about $20, but I am not sure anymore) it is about $6.50 per turn, but turns are cycled every two weeks. For thirteen bucks a month, that is a pretty good amount of entertainment for the price.
To: Overtaxed
Right. So.... who else wants a piece of this action? "Elf McNuggets" on special now! Just remember, Jen's Big-Game and Elf-Hunting takes no responsibility for any damage that said Elves may cause on you or the surrounding countryside.
Safety tip: avoid any Elf who has survived: the Fall of Gondolin, the Seige of Thangorodrim, the Last Alliance, or the Crossing of the Hellcaraxe. These are very dangerous and good at surviving. You will probably end up as dragonfodder if you go up against them. After all, they're the sort who put the 'War' in warrior.
I need a new publicist. This advertising stuff is harder than it looks.
