everything else is kid stuff.Literally kid stuff... the only other "adult" prentation nominated was the "Buffy" episode. Kind of a paltry year...

Thanks for the very good picture, Bear, though she was wearing, perhaps, too many clothes?

Just about everything you need, you can make yourself. I have made bows out of Osage orange, Hackberry, Hickory, Oak and Pecan. They are all self-bows, made of one piece of wood. Like the english longbow style and the american flat bow style. No recurves at this time.
Made arrows from rivercane, ash, dogwood, hickory. Fletching from wild turkey or Canada goose feathers, glued on with hide glue or duco cement, sinew wrapped for durability, with self nocks.
Arm guard and tabs from leather (from Tandy's) had to buy the arrow heads, steel or brass field points. Also made the quivers from Tandy leathers, now get leather at various shoots.
All the components can be purchased for assembly or gathered the old fashioned way or bartered.
A pair of good websites is www.stickbow.com & primitivearcher.com Hope this helped.

Oh, and Gardner Dozier, who edits Analog - or Asimov's, I forget which...I remember Dozier, who must be editing Asimov, where I first read him, since Stanley Schmidt has returned to editing Analog.

Thanks, I'm checking out those websites. Life is great, isn't it?

"Speaking of the men's club...HOKIES WIN! 26-8. "
That's good...that is if they weren't playing UVA or Miami I mean.
To: Sam Cree
You're welcome, Sam! If that picture wasn't completely to your liking,
here's the site I got it from. Oh, and if you really wanted to, you could see Ben Affleck eating animal crackers off of Arwen's bare stomach in the movie
Armageddon (that
can't be very hygienic...)
To: Lucius Cornelius Sulla
Yes, you must be right. Most of the authors I like either didn't write anything this year, or aren't really Hugo-quality material. I am surprised that Tad Williams wasn't up; I thought "Otherland" was eligible this year.

Oh, and if you really wanted to, you could see Ben Affleck eating animal crackers off of Arwen's bare stomach in the movie Armageddon (that can't be very hygienic..)This goes a long way towards explaining why a lot of people didn't think that she could pull of the dignified and fairly complex role of Arwen.

That's good...that is if they weren't playing UVA or Miami I mean. No, they played a real team today...

No, they played a real team today...Go Hokies! (But don't knock UF, FSU, or Miami. Football, the official Florida sport)

Good night Sam! Sleep well!

You know, I really like being able to stay up late and not worry about being tired for work tomorrow.

Instinctive archery. yessss. I have a real appreciation for instictive shooting, archery and firearm...before I ever touched a gun, I was a damn good instictive archer...(cheap composite and wood recurves, sorry)...when I first picked up a firearm, it came very naturally...IMO, most people fall in love with fancy sights and gadgets...when I shoot a handgun, I don't aim, I point, the pistol an extension of my arm...I hit...In a gunfight, if you have to sight in, your wrong...I'm alive because of instictive shooting...
I've sold out, and use compounds now... when I get the time after I retire, I think I'll go back to recurves and longbows...

We can always remedy the height differential. Good one OT...(sniff) I'm touched that you remember my teachings, grasshopper...

Good to see you Bear...Got some good scoutin' doe, the beer bottled, drinkin' some whiskey, and Mrs. g'nad is in the shower...hee hee hee...

I am a natural, I think, with handguns. I consistently shoot tight accurate groups and kindof always have.
That is why I was so flummoxed when I got my shotgun and could not hit a clay pigeon to save my life. I had to work really hard at it, every week, for months, and at the end I was still only 15 for 20 on a good day.
Hunting alone most of the time, I actually began to think my dogs would never understand the goal. I thought they would forever think the whole purpose for being there was to watch the pretty birds fly away! Luckily, with my dad coming along a few times and helping with the shooting, we were able to down a few.
I think my shotgun fits, and I understand fit is everything in shotgunning... I have had folk look at my gun "on me".... but it just didn't come easy the way pistol shooting did.

Good evening!

So, life is good then? :)

I'm home. We stayed an hour and a half. I could have stayed hours longer, but I'm grateful Steve took me at all and when he said he was ready to go, I didn't kick up a fuss. Besides, no whistle players came.
I reeked so bad of cigarette smoke that I came home and scrubbed from head to toe.
Mighty good music though.
