There are a few of you near me then... I am near Olympia. We are a small town. Not far from Hobbiton. One more cup of this espresso and I won't be able to stay in this chair.

it was grannie9 who almost got sent to hobbit hole
for mouthing off at new posters
she loves seed cakes and ale
how nice of you to make her feel so welcome
you do know she has a criminal record
she got arrested for hall sex with her hubby
she has calmed down considerably since that time tho
I've heard hobbits are compassionate to ex-felons

We don't know what felons are in Hobbiton, because there aren't any crimes worth prosecuting. Folk pretty much stay in line of their own accord there. The Shirrifs pretty much only have to help corral wayward beasts.

HairofTheDog...I see you live in Tumwater, home to the Brewery..ever go there for tours? we occasionally stop by there for the tour, and some free beer...we used to stop by the Toy Shoppe about twice month so my younger boy could get all his Dungeons and Dragons supplies...and we journey over to Costco, a few times a year...when my younger boy played football in Middle School, they played against Tumwater, and we went over for the game...and boo, you beat us good....and yes, it is snowing here also, tho dont expect much accumulation.....Nice to see another local Washingtonian here on this wild and crazy thread...
Palo, I can just imagine miss Lulu sitting out and enjoying herself...we are all waiting for the LuLu cam to be set up, so we can watch her strut her stuff for us....
We had a general bit of excitement here last nite...at 4am, I thought I was having a dream, and in the dream a big dog was barking...then I woke up...and I heard this big dog barking and men hollering, all right next door to me...now I know the man next door has two small weiner dogs, so I knew right away, it was not them barking...
Then I heard the men hollering again, and was trying to make out what they were saying...mind you, I was rather foggy from having been awoken from a deep sleep...
I flicked on the backyard spotlight, and opened the door...someone from next door, told me to close the door, a police search was going on...
Must have been some robber, or rapist or some such criminal trying to make an escape from somewhere, and the police dog must have tracked him down to my next door neighbors yard...I guess they had the guy down on the ground, and he kept trying to move, and they kept telling him to be still, and the dog kept barking every time the suspect moved...eventually they got him in their car, and the dog shut up, but apparently there was another suspect, they were trying to find...the suspect they had was trying to tell them, that there was a garbage dump behind all of our houses, and that is where the other guy went...well, thats not true...there is certainly no garbage dump behind us, but rather a county green belt, which leads into the playground for the elementary school....
Anyway, a few minutes later, we could see searchlights being used in back of our house, into the county green belt...we have very little crime here, in our little section of Olympia, so it was all very exciting....
Well, need to go to the store again today...need to pick up the corned beef and cabbage for the traditional St Pats day....and need to pick up much beer for the celebration...of course the beer drinking will begin promptly here tonite, at 5pm...
So, see you all later, when I am good and relaxed from my days shopping and my body is tingling with some good ale...

That is quite a bit of excitement in a small town.
My friends and I have been talking about doing the brewery tour. We haven't been since Miller bought it. They have been fixing it up. I hear they have reopened the catwalk over the bottling room. We haven't been able to see that since I was a kid. I am sure there is still free beer at the end!

Who could be a felon with a grandson as sweet as that?
To: grannie9
how did you do that? how cool! :)

To: andysandmikesmom
hi lynn! :)
To: HairOfTheDog
Ah, to be sure, free beer at the end...that is what makes the brewery tour exciting...

Good morning to you.....
To: palo verde
I need to stop jabbering and get to the store, before the leprechauns buy out all the beer and corned beef.....boy, it sure is snowing again here....what really weird weather...we are sending it all to you Palo...maybe some snow on the desert would be a treat...
To: christine11
Thank you! That picture was a great moment in time, both horses, large and small, in perfect cadence with each other.
Horses are quite sensitive to beat and rhythm, and will often move in step with each other naturally. Many who watch the Budwieser Clydesdales think they are trained to move in step with each other. They do it out of instinct. I think they do it so that predators may not be able to tell how many there are in a group.

I was born in Show Low Arizona. Do you know where that is? - It was small then, I heard it has grown.
