On Tuesday, Democrats swept the midterm elections with shocking wins across the country, including sweeping Texas and winning US Senate seats in deep red states including South Carolina, Iowa, Ohio, Kansas, Mississippi (likely), and even Texas.
At The Gateway Pundit, we have postponed our public announcements on the reasons for this historic midterm bloodbath.
We are still looking at Tuesday's numbers and starting to see more shocking coincidences. These released results require 'a willing suspension of disbelief.'
Earlier TGP reported on squishy James Talarico's weirdly impossible numbers. The pro-trans kids Texas candidate may have been missing for two weeks during the end of the campaign but that didn't stop him from winning in a landslide against Republican stalwart Ken Paxton.

In fact, weirdo Talarico won more Democrat votes than ALL Democrat Texas candidates since 2016, including three Democrat presidential campaigns!

How is that possible?
A state that President Trump won handily in 2024 - just two years ago - with a 14% victory over Kamala Harris!
And just two years later - Democrats win a US Senate seat in the Lone Star state by 12 percentage points!

They were a lot higher under Biden
Maybe this is what Trump really wanted, a total purge of the GOP. Like how a sports franchise blows up the team to rebuild.
A lot of conservative referendums like voter ID passed.
Does anyone have the # of votes for these referendums to compare with total votes cast for the winning Dem?
I have a suspicion that real voters voted for the whole ballot and the fake votes were only for the major dem candidates. The fake ballots were filled out quick and didn’t fill out entire ballot like the referendums.
8 RINOs bit the dust!!!! A silver lining.
an optimist huh? Well, yeah, Cassidy, Collins, Coryn, Massie are all gone forever. The Democrat party isn’t the only party that’s changed.
If you believe the election was legit — it was a referendum on the GOP do nothings and not about Trump.
I agree with you. Iowa runs a very secure voting system. The republicans ran a seriously flawed candidate for governor ..Zach Lahn lives primarily in Wichita ...he met the bar to run for governor by 2 weeks. He had an affair with and ended up marrying the wife of Chase Koch in 2020 while his own wife was pregnant ..it made him VERY wealthy...he then buys a farm in Iowa and tries to pass himself off as a farmer...he was a terrible candidate that was a drag on the rest of the GOP ticket ..probably enough to pull Hinson down in her bid for senate as well...The Farm Bureau refused to endorse him ..That’s almost unheard of for an Iowa Republican candidate...then there’s Vivek ...another horrible candidate....when you run horrible candidates at the top of a ticket you lose...it’s that simple ..
The Rats “blew up their team after 2024” and look how it turned out for them.
Sometimes you just have to rip off the Band-Aid.
I honestly cannot help you if you simply won’t grasp math and statistics.
You’re tossing about big numbers like a monkey flings poo.
I’ll lay it out simply.
First of all - turnout in 2020 was 66%. Highest in more than a century. It was a extraordinary number. It STILL means there were a good 70m or so eligible voters that didn’t turn out.
But no matter - because you’re comparing Presidential election years to midterms - and, look it up - midterm turnout is ALWAYS lower.
FIRST of all - while US population growth is slowing, it’s not static NOR declining. That means that *every election* - there are *more* eligible voters than fewer. So raw numbers? Meaningless. Doesn’t mean total votes ALWAYS grow - turnout... 50%? 60%? 30%? The raw numbers won’t automatically go up - but it’s a bigger set.
SECOND - and here’s where Simpson’s Paradox comes in... data subset swings can dramatically change the aggregate. Turnout, polling crosstabs, even basic turnout from individual counties based on demographics (see the Rio Grande Valley in Texas). DJT put up AMAZING numbers with hispanics and black voters (relative to history) in 2024. In 2026? Those proportions went *hard* the other way. To an amazing degree. AND the data set got larger to boot!
That leads us to a broader, simpler Berkson/collider bias.
The data set - voters - changed AND the subsets changed (look at younger voters, too! We got massacred).
People vote - or choose not to vote - for all kinds of reason. You assume everybody who voted one way - SIX YEARS AGO!!! (or even TWO years ago) - is a static data set AND was 100% on why/who they voted. That’s just a laughable, ridiculous presumption.
We need to do an HONEST post-mortem and conspiracy theories don’t help.
The high-level data says:
1. The leftists were supercharged and ALL came out - especially in red states where they might have figured it didn’t matter previously. R voters look like... average midterm.
2. Subset swings - especially with hispanics and blacks - swung HARD the other way. Same with young voters.
3. Suburban/’RINO’s also swung. The suburban numbers are downright scary — look at IN-5. Spartz lost because a lot of wealthy, suburban indianapolis counties went blue.
when you run horrible candidates at the top of a ticket you lose...it’s that simple ..
That only applies to Republicans. We have our “principles” don’cha know. Meanwhile it’s “Vote Blue, No Matter Who” on their side.
All I know is there were a lot Trump 2024 voters who refused to vote for Lahn as governor of Iowa ....a fake farmer trying to tell real farmers how to be a regenerative farmer doesn’t go over very well in Iowa ....MAHA isn’t a big sell in Iowa ...

Florida has implemented more robust election security measures, including post-election audits and absentee ballot verification processes, compared to Iowa, Texas, and South Carolina. These measures help ensure that only eligible voters can vote and that each vote is counted accurately.
North Carolina:
Total votes cast FOR Voter ID : 2,463,276
Total votes cast AGAINST Voter ID: 1,669,764
Votes FOR POS Dem Cooper: 2,467,963
Votes FOR Repub Whatley: 1,643,088
Completely inverted. Something just doesn’t seem right. I strongly suspect votes were flipped in the candidate races.
Low-T Jimmy got more votes than Harris or the Potato before her???
“Democrats turned out like it was a general election, and Republicans turned out like it was a midterm.”
Here in blood red Gordon County GA (NW GA) there was 46% turnout in 2026 vs 71% in 2024.
On election day at 1:45PM there were empty parking spaces next to the courthouse where voting was taking place. It looked like just another regular day downtown with little going on. Part of this was because a lot of folks, like me and the wife, did in-person early voting, but overall there just wasn’t a huge turnout.
That does seem odd
From Jeff Childers “Coffee & Covid News” today:
Yesterday we saw a gender-bending political novice who somehow beat the Republican incumbent for a state house seat in Alabama. It was a metaphor for the national election results. Today delivers another colorful red district upset: Ericka Lomick. The Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported, “This Democrat won Fort Worth House seat after dropping out. Can she take office?” Wait till you hear this story.
Defying the Times’ template, yesterday’s trans state rep could hardly be “perceived as moderate,” especially in Huntsville. He was no Tejano smokejumper. As for his testosterone levels, well, he is probably taking blockers. Ericka Lomack is not quite as shocking, not right off, but she still breaks the Times’ “success formula.”
It only gets weirder from here. A lot weirder.
Her demographics are not the story. Ericka won a state house seat in a safe red Texas district by a narrow but conclusive margin of 810 votes. The number of votes was one of the first things that seemed off. Ericka got 38,972; her Republican opponent, Alan Blaylock, got 38,162. It wasn’t an accident. She won twice on Tuesday, since, due to a weird overlap of two different terms, the same seat appeared twice on the ballot in two different races.
Ericka won two times on the same ballot. So it wasn’t a fluke.
With me so far? Now consider this: Ericka’s district is all red. It went for Trump +19 in 2024. Tuesday’s numbers are wildly inconsistent with that.
Two years ago, 53,728 Fort Worth Republicans voted for Trump, and 36,253 Democrats voted for Kamala Harris. In other words, Ericka got 2,719 more votes than Kamala Harris did two years ago. At the same time, some 15,500 Texas Republicans disappeared or sat home. When you hear the rest of Ericka’s story, you’ll understand why I cannot believe a single Republican crossed over and protest-voted for her.
You won’t believe it either. Let us count the ways.
Like Alison, yesterday’s gender-twisted example, Ericka, a UT law student (she says) who works at Walmart’s operations center, was a first-time candidate with no prior political experience. She also lacked connections because she’d only moved to Texas less than four years ago. Her opponent, Alan Blaylock, was a Fort Worth City Commissioner and a born-and-bred Texan.
According to campaign disclosures, Ericka raised less than $8,000 for the entire campaign, which also proves she had no party support. She had no organizational support. It sounds like she didn’t even really campaign. Meanwhile, Blaylock raised six hundred thousand ($600,650). He outspent her 75 to 1.
Money isn’t everything. But come on. Sometimes money is a proxy for other factors, like how much popular support a candidate does or doesn’t have, or it says something about their political skills.
Now let’s peek at the really weird part.
🔥 When Ericka won this week, her campaign website was down, and it has probably been down since the beginning of September— because she probably took it down, and fast. She probably took it down because someone found some North Carolina federal court records showing that she pleaded guilty in 2011 to mortgage fraud, bank fraud, and money-laundering conspiracy. She got 63 months in prison.
In Texas, convicted felons cannot hold office.
The candidate form even has a box requiring candidates to check off whether they’d ever been convicted. Ericka checked “no.” (Which itself created a new crime.) In late September, after being confronted with her 2011 fraud and money-laundering conviction and five-year prison sentence, Ericka suspended her campaign and dropped out— before early voting began. Headline from the Texas Scorecard:
“Democrat Ericka Lomick Suspends Texas House Campaign Amid Questions Over Felony Conviction”
Ericka can’t legally hold office. She was always a non-viable candidate. It was obvious and it was public. But since in September’s final week it was too late to change the ballots, Ericka’s name stayed on both races. And on Tuesday, despite being a convicted felon, despite suspending her campaign, despite having been outspent 75 to 1, despite her lack of political experience or any roots in Texas, Ericka still got more votes than Kamala Harris got, in a +19 Trump district.
Somebody explain to me how this could have happened. Her campaign strategy was to quit. It was the most effective Democrat platform since Biden’s basement or Talarico’s three-week flu holiday.
Take any of the hot-take theories you like. But if you want to argue that thousands of disgruntled Republicans in Fort Worth were so mad about the Iran War they’d protest vote for a convicted felon with a suspended campaign, then where are they? Folks that angry should stick out like a thumb so sore it was trying to self-amputate.
It’s weird! It’s another twisted example of yesterday’s distorted results. According to the reported numbers, Republican turnout was undoubtedly weak, about 30% under 2024 levels. But in their defense, that’s not a weird drop-off for a midterm election compared to presidential numbers.
The Democrat turnout over 2024 numbers is what’s hard to explain. I can believe some sore Republicans stayed home. I can’t believe they went to the polls and voted for this.
This is our second metaphor for Tuesday’s blue wave.
I’m not the only one asking questions. Also in Texas, Democrats somehow managed to increase their turnout from 2022’s midterms by nearly 2 million votes...
There’s more. Highly recommend reading the whole thing.

What is “more robust”??
And you’re saying you don’t trust Texas?
I’ll be suspicious till I die......in the meantime I’ll just pray that this blows up in their faces (Demonrats).
I have a better idea. Let’s perform exorcisms on those who claim to be Christian but aligned themselves with Baal.
