The Lies They Tell
11/3/2026 | Whitney69

People wonder how misinformation is passed, here’s a perfect example.

An advertisement on our television networks being done by the opposition of HB685 in Washington state is an example of just how crooked the liberals are.

They describe an upside down tax system that protects the top earners and say it is crooked as the top earners pay lesser taxes than the middle tier. So it is unfair as it will effect the schools, road taxes, and other people required funds.

The percentage for the top 4% in Washington is at 5.4% The middle tier at 9.4% according to the Institute on Taxation and Economic. The dollar values were done by them concerning the tier amounts. But the lie is that they are saying the top 4% is paying less than the middle tier. The dollar values are base:

$98,141 @ 9.4% = $10,440

$819,101 @ 5.4% = $151,685

The narrator for this, and the person leading the public to a lie, is Ken Jennings from Jeopardy. I am not going to continue to support the sponsors of this program. The company that owns the show is Sony which is a Japanese Company. Their biggest partners in the US is Disney that Sony Pictures Home Entertainment manufactures, distributes, and markets all of Disney's physical media (including DVDs, Blu-rays, and 4K Ultra HD discs) to retailers in the US and Canada. Such a surprise.

Your “top tier” is certainly paying a far smaller percentage of their income in taxes. One advantage of a truly progressive income tax system is that is shares the pain of taxes equally.

In your example, which tax payer would you expect can take a tax his without disrupting their entire family economy, the guy who is paying a tenth of his income, or the guy who’s paying half as much on a vastly higher income.

In many Fortune 500 companies, the techies who know math, physics, chemistry, engineering, etc go into those employment fields.

Those who majored in humanities, gender studies, etc go into advertising, human resources, public relations. Don’t expect them to do math.

PS Your math needs some work. 5.4% of $819101 isn’t $150k.

So you support the politics of envy. No surprise

They describe an upside down tax system that protects the top earners and say it is crooked as the top earners pay lesser taxes than the middle tier.

This is actually true but the corporate media don't dare tell the people how: Top earners hide much of their income and shelter much of their spending in tax-exempt "charitable" foundations "donating" money to NGOs to game the system for fatter profits, usually by putting their domestic competition out of business with government regulations.

It's Democrat/Progressive fascism, what I like to call "highly organized crime." The layers of NGOs exist to launder the money.

What I am saying is not about envy, but the misallocation of capital toward the destruction of domesitic industry. A lot of it is supposedly to "protect the environ-mint" Yet my work shows that simply isn't true; what they are doing is causing mass extinctions. I just want an honest system built upon measurable results.

The question isn’t how much people should pay in taxes but rather if an income tax is something we should have in Washington at all. We pay sales tax and property tax and should repeal this highly unconstitutional income tax,
Washington state has shown time and again they never honor the terms they establish when they add a new tax. Never ends up going to the cause they say they are funding. Always goes into the general fund and then frittered away on progressive initiatives. We the people need to strike this tax down. Here will be the end result if the he tax remains. Rich people will move elsewhere and we will lose our job creators and innovators.

I’ve seen people arguing for the Millionaire’s Tax, saying it will provide school lunches for everyone. Including the millionaire’s kids. Tax the rich, to feed the rich kids...

Looks like the moral of the story is:

Earn more to pay less (a percentage). Or, earn less and pay a higher percentage.

But, in the cases quoted above, the higher earner is paying 10 times the amount of the lower earner. So, I don’t see what the problem is.

Anybody that moves from low earnings to higher earnings won’t be complaining once they get to that level; they’ll just be complaining from having to pay more.

It depends where the lower tier and middle tier end.

Tax wuuld be x% on the first $y
then 9.4% on $y to $z
then 5.4% on anything above $z.

We don’t know what x, y, and z are.

“...they’ll just be complaining from having to pay more.”

You might be missing my point. The taxes that are levied on the rich, only or not, effect the bottom line of everyone in the dollar tiers. The rich may never run out of money, but they will run out of businesses that can’t even break even. Those will close no matter how big they are. If the businesses go, so do the jobs. If the government makes it insolvent to operate, the businesses will just move. And in many times downsize as it won’t be a lot more solvent in another place so they make it in place.

Case in point is the oil industry. Our prices in the country are high because of taxes and greed of the middle man. The big guys/gals have the money already in the ground or in storage. Billions of barrels of oil is stored in different places in the US so the companies have it in the “bank.” And we are the largest exporter of petroleum products in the world. So why is it so high? Federal tax per gallon of gas is a flat rate of 18.4 cents per gallon consisting of an 18.3-cent excise tax and a 0.1-cent Leaking Underground Storage Tank fee. In my state, the state tax on gas to the consumer is 56.5 cents per gallon. That’s almost 75 cents per gallon you put in the tank you are covering with each gallon for the state and feds to do almost nothing. Does that make them the rich?

Where I live in Washington state companies ar bailing out or downsizing left and right.

Bailed major companies include:

Boeing, Fischer Investments, Northwest Hardwoods, Georgia Pacific, Neiman Marcus, numerous Starbuck’s...there’s more.

Disappearing jobs are huge with cutbacks from major companies like Amazon, Eddie Bauer, numerous casinos, and many more. Here’s a good list:

https://leftwashington.org/

So are the rich effected? Not hardly. Is everyone below them? Just read the proof I gave you, thousands of people in the state. And this is just one list.

“Anybody that moves from low earnings to higher earnings...”

And where are those higher eaners going to materialize if the earnings are dropping or going away? There won’t be anyone left but those that are willing to ride it out until they have to move and won’t be promoting or hiring. History displays this while the country was developing. If they couldn’t make it, they went west. I’m in Tacoma. The ocean is just a few miles from me. So the only place I can take my business if all the states are ruined is foreign. And then wait for the govenment taxes and inflation to catch up on those too growing the retail prices. And even though we live in a huge tax reduction thanks to Trump, lowest level since 1939, and the average home income is higher than it has ever been up from 2024, $74,500, to $104,663. (Personal Finance 24/7 Group) we still are stupid enough not to try for a continuace.

Look around you. With the foolish, at best, election for the socialists to get control of congress, they are going to tax citizens into oblivion over the next four years, two past Trump’s efforts to protect. And those jobs that were in the CONUS will go overseas and disappear for the workers here. And the menial labor jobs, many times seasonal, will be the only consistency.

And that leads to the third word country as the illegals that come over the border during the liberal control will be flooding the job market with cheap labor for a while. Better buy pencils to sell on the street corner now if you want your own business. And while you’re at it, figure out how to live and get your kids educated from that. The government taxes that too, at all levels.+
