Winery owned by Ilhan Omar's husband shuttered due to fraud, James Comer says
Fox News ^ | 10/20/26 | Elizabeth Elkind

A winery co-owned by the husband of Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., was shuttered amid fraud claims, House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer, R-Ky., said.

Comer said over the weekend that the winery had been selling empty barrels to investors under the guise of "wine to be aged."

"I can tell you from our initial investigation of Omar and her financial disclosure form that there are multiple fronts where you could get a search warrant issued," Comer told Trey Gowdy on Fox News' "Sunday Night in America."

"First of all, not only was there a huge discrepancy in the financial disclosure form, there was the winery that was the big base of her $25 million listing on her financial disclosure form. That winery has, according to the press, been shut down because of fraud."

The winery, co-owned by the congresswoman's husband, Tim Mynett, shut down in April this year amid congressional scrutiny over Omar's finances.

His and his business partner's lawyers told the Minnesota Reformer, "Any suggestion that Will or Tim deliberately defrauded investors or otherwise consciously conspired to rip people off would be false and defamatory."

The revelation is not new, but it's one of several details that have resurfaced in recent days amid a federal probe into Omar's citizenship in the U.S.

Empty barrels. ha ha ah haha ha ah haha ha ah haha ha ah ha

A while back I was working in the nuclear industry. A similar fraud occurred.

Some companies, like in all industries, serve as collectors of product. Kinda like middlemen. Or, they will hold your product in a safe site until you decide what to do.

One did this, for dozens of companies. The overall product was valued at hundreds of millions.

The material was stored in a large lot, like a parking lot. Clear field of view and easy to employ security. When prudent companies would conduct an audit they’d show up and the company would walk them to see “their barrels” — openly marked with paperwork.
Then, when THAT company departed they ran about changing the labels for the next audit. Repeat.

This went on until some eagle-eyed auditor noticed that there were multiple labels on barrels. Imagine the pile of those little license plate tags on your cars — one for each year in which you drive that car.

All ‘Ell broke out. The primary owner of the storage company (i.e., also an owner of a Colorado sports team) promptly fled the country. The company promptly declared bankruptcy . My company lost ~$12M. I know of some guys at other companies who were promptly fired for massive losses.
The CCP were particularly pi$$ed off since they “thought” they had massive holdings there. Which might explain why the owner was rumored to have fled to Russia. Since he was never heard from again he might not have survived that move.

Trust, buy verify. It could save your job and life.

Funny none of the investors who got empty barrels complained or sued.

It’s almost like they knew that the empty barrels meant something else...

Selling empty barrels of wine is how Omar complies with Sharia law that prohibits the consumption of alcohol.

And/Or, she is "Selling" the empty barrels to people who are funneling money to the US to support the integration of I-Slime and Jihad in the U.S.

Similar to the Politicians who write books that are then purchased by Labor unions or leftist publishers. $10 million for a self biography for some washed up pol? More likely post-political payoff for previous favors and the expectation that some of the money will be expended on to further advance leftist causes. (How many homes does Barry the Manchurian have??)

Wineries are a new, and ingenious, political method of money-laundering.

It’s far better than “artwork,” (Hunter Biden) as any possible evidence (ie. wine) can claim to be have been consumed.

Female politicians used to write “children’s books” to launder $$. Everyone has done it, from Hillary and Chelsea Clinton to Kamala Harris, Kirsten Gillibrand and the former mayor of Baltimore! They could fill libraries with these fake books!

Even Dems realized that a fake children’s book from the low IQ migrant Ilhan Omar was simply too unbelievable.

no one in their right mind would buy wine “futures” from “Schmanko’s Winery”; that sort of activity is makes sense only for long-established winerys with a VERY long history of producing amazing vintages that have a long established market of very expensive prices ...

therefore, this whole deal is obviously nothing more than some kind of money laundering scheme ...

Stephen Burton, founder of Bordeaux Cellars, pled guilty to federal charges on Thursday after he and his business partner, James Wellesley, were accused of running a fraudulent wine lending business that ripped off more than 100 victims across the world.

Two childhood friends have found themselves at the center of a multimillion-dollar fraud prosecution in New York after what started as a luxury wine lending business promising lucrative returns cost investors nearly $100 million.

These two should be in prison. But, like so many others who belong to THE CLUB ("..it's all a big club and you don't belong..."), this too shall simply be ignored.

"Lock her up!" "Hunter's Laptop!!" "The Autopen!!"

Ad infinitum

Man Bites Dog!

Is there a website that will tell you if the muslim business you are engaging with is is an honest one? Or are all muslim transactions just assumed to have a nefarious angle of some sort?

All cultures ARE NOT the same.

This may be a dumb question, but, how much of a market is there to borrow wine? Presumably if it is lent, then it should be returned, which means it can’t have been consumed.

Fine wine lending lets collectors unlock the value of their collection without selling it. The lender evaluates the wine’s market value (often using the Liv‑ex index) and offers a loan based on a set loan‑to‑value (LTV) ratio
