A growing number of Minnesota Democrats are speaking out against U.S. Rep. Ilhan Omar’s upcoming appearance at an event featuring controversial far-left Twitch streamer and political commentator Hasan Piker.
Democratic state Sen. Omar Fateh is organizing the sold-out event, the first in a new conversation series called “I’m the Host Now,” in Minneapolis on Monday. A description on Eventbrite says the discussion will focus on Minneapolis, politics and the community.
“I am honored to be able to share space alongside two fearless champions for our people who fight for us and the future that we want to build,” Fateh said in a social media post.
Despite backlash from others in her party, an Omar spokesperson confirmed Wednesday that she still plans to attend the event and is looking forward to it.
“With the election just two weeks away, Rep. Omar is laser-focused on turning out the vote and decisively defeating Republicans up and down the ballot. Early voting among people under 40 is down, and we need to do everything to get young people to the polls,” the spokesperson said.
“The Congresswoman knows the Democratic Party is a Big Tent party, and she’s excited to join Senator Omar Fateh’s event to mobilize young voters and get them to vote in this critical midterm election.”

They REALLY are worried that this is going to cost them a MN Senate seat.
Almost every time I read an article pertaining to politics, names that are hard to pronounce show up as “senator, governor, representative, councilman etc.”
Just look at what they are saying and doing BEFORE the elections, and then imagine what will happen if they gain control.
