A New Jersey woman is accused of poisoning an acquaintance's tea during a meeting at a local restaurant to discuss suspicious activity in the victim's bank accounts, authorities said.
Rohweniven Bacani, 52, of Hackensack, was arrested Thursday, Oct. 15, following a weeks-long investigation into the Sept. 8 incident, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella said.
The victim had agreed to meet Bacani at the restaurant to discuss unauthorized banking activity she had discovered in financial accounts to which Bacani had shared access, Musella said.
When the victim arrived, Bacani was already there with a cup of tea waiting for her, investigators said. The woman drank some of the tea but stopped after noticing an unusual taste, authorities said.
She collapsed while leaving the restaurant and later woke up in a hospital with no memory of how she got there, Musella said. The victim remained hospitalized for several days following what authorities initially described as a serious medical episode.
Investigators later determined that Bacani had laced the tea with a benzodiazepine, a class of drugs that slows down activity in your brain and nervous system, commonly used for treating anxiety, according to the Cleveland Health Clinic.
They’re most often used for treating anxiety and related mental health conditions, as well as brain-related conditions like seizures. These medications are tightly regulated and are only available with a prescription.
acani was charged Wednesday, Oct. 14, with third-degree aggravated assault. Detectives arrested her outside her Hackensack home the following day. She was taken to the Bergen County Jail pending her first court appearance.
The victim is still recovering, authorities said.

Sounds like something You Know Who would do...
If I were inclined to commit crime, I’d be scared to death that modern investigate techniques would foil my nefarious plans. I’m surprised she thought she’d get away with it. In the photo she looks to be very bright
she seems nice
Yes it does sound like Ms Clinton’s kind of mischief,
except Hillary would have Huma actually serve the Tea.
Huma would not know about the ‘Homebrewed Special Recipe Hot Sauce’.
Did the victim have a heart attack-ack-ack-ack-ack?

One more in a long line of unassuming neighbors and seemingly nice women who were murderers at heart. There are dozens of stories like this, probably the most famous of which is Caroline Grills. The kindly old woman who poisoned eight relatives and neighbors by inviting them over for tea.
You oughta know by now.
Thanking you very kindly for the hot cup of tea and rat poison.
Romani?
The approved method is to put ricin in the stevia. It’s delayed death that just looks like a bad break.
Then you call them when they are dying and gloat.
Since Mrs. Clinton has a lot of free time nowadays, she should try to get cast in one of those Lifetime psycho movies. I don’t know what her acting chops are like, but has the face and personality for it.
Myself and my friends roamed all over the marshy areas always finding discarded 55 gallon drums of God know what,
The old Erie Lackawana railroad ran though the area.
What a dump.
She's all yours; too orange for my taste.
👏 👏 👏 well played.
This has been a method of murdering rivals in Islam.
((by wife))—Muhammad al-Jawad (d. 835), ninth Imam of Twelver Shia Islam; poisoned by his wife on orders from the new caliph.
((by enemies))—
Ali ibn Abi Talib (d. 661), fourth caliph of the Rashidun Caliphate and first of the Twelve Imams of Shia Islam
Hasan ibn Ali(d.670), fifth caliph of the Rashidun Caliphate and the second of the Twelve Imams of Shia Islam. poisoned by his wife, on the orders of Mu’awiya I.
Umar ibn Abd al-Aziz (d. 720), eighth caliph of the Umayyad Caliphate
Muhammad al-Baqir (d. 733), fifth Imam of Twelver Shia Islam; supposedly died after being given a poisoned saddle
Mūsá al-Kāẓim (d. 799), seventh Imam of Twelver Shia Islam.
Ardeshir Hosseinpour (d. 2007), Iranian nuclear scientist; possibly assassinated by Mossad with “radioactive poisoning” or “gas poisoning”.
Interesting one:
Khaled Mashal, leader of Palestinian fundamentalist organization Hamas; survived being poisoned by Israeli assassins in 1997 after two of the assassins were captured and an antidote was supplied by Israel in exchange for their release.
Photo....
If the “looks can kill” thing doesn’t work out then use the poison.
