BEND, Ore. (KATU) — Police in Bend are on the scene of a reported active shooter situation at Silver Rail Elementary School.
A large police presence has gathered in the area. Residents are asked to avoid the area. The school has been placed on lockdown due to this incident.
The suspected shooter has been shot and killed, according to police. At this time it is unclear who shot the suspect.
Police confirmed that there are multiple victims, including children. At least two people have been taken to a local hospital in unknown condition.
KATU News has reached out to the Deschutes County Sheriff's Office; a spokesperson said they are heading to assist with the incident.
Bend Police say they will provide a media update at 2:15 p.m.

That’s what I’m thinking, too. I’ll be watching this story. Daughter lives in Bend, though her child is just several months old. She may have friends with children that are school age. What a tragedy. I can’t wait to see more on the shooter.
It will be a while before they release the shooter’s identity and only then will we have a person or group to blame.

Bend Mayor Melanie Kebler and other officials will host a news conference on the shooting at 5:30 p.m. PT (8:30 p.m. ET).
Actually this is their way of offing themselves, suicide by cop. If they just offed themselves in a ditch, it would be a minor few paragraphs in the paper. They want to be remembered for years. They want to die; they are without any morality nor compassion. They are an empty shell and they know it. Thus, kill some kids and let the cops kill you that empty shell is then filled in the public's memory. It is filled with horror and hate and much remorse from the victims' families.
Aside from being crazy a lot of this is because of the "victim ideology" of the left justifies this to the crazies.

I lived in Medford, OR, for a time back in the mid-90’s - the entirety of the I-5 corridor in Oregon was just about as batsh!+ as they come back then, certainly a breeding ground for this kind of nutjob. Sad, because there is some absolutely majestic scenery all along that area.

Horrible news.
That would raise an interesting question because carry permits are not valid on school property. This, if true, would show why they should be.
CBS News: Multiple law enforcement sources tell us 5 people are dead in the Bend, Oregon, elementary school shooting including the alleged shooter.
Among the dead are four victims: 3 children and one adult, according to preliminary information.
