Nidal Hasan is a savage Islamic terrorist who killed 13 innocent US service members at Fort Hood in 2009. He deserves the death penalty, nothing less.
But the idea of broadcasting his execution publicly — livestreaming it — is beyond grotesque.
America is supposed to be a model nation, with the highest values, a shining light that leads the world into a civilized future.
The spectacle of a publicized, glamorized execution sends us in the opposite direction.
It signals a type of gloating and bravado unbecoming a proud, moral country.
America is not a medieval caliphate. Our leaders aren’t supposed to act like jihadists.
Will Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, who proposed the hideous extravaganza, next suggest filming captured, blindfolded Islamists on their knees, while US soldiers behead them?
Hasan’s death is meant to achieve justice for the horrific evil he perpetrated, not serve as a source of entertainment or pleasure for masses.

I doubt it means anything to muslims. They are already murderous psychopaths
Thank you!
No firing squad - hang him the Iranian way.
Whack him, but record it. I don’t care if I see it live-streamed, but I’d hate to miss out on any comical .gifs that might result from his demise.
Oh stop with the bleeding heart liberal crap, please!! This is a terrorist that murdered innocent people. What special treatment does he deserve? It’s only fair that Americans get to see justice finally served. You’re getting your panties all in a wad for something that will be over in a few minutes.
They've never needed an excuse.
Spot on!
It's okay for terrorists to murder people in public, but it's not okay for terrorists to be put down in public? What a crock!
Shoot him off the fantail of a warship at sea. No public spectacle needed.
Dip the bullets in pig fat and use an all female firing squad.
All female firing squad.
He’ll never get to paradise.
Martyrdom is when somebody's death creates sympathy for a particular cause, or their death is used to advance a particular cause. But what was this scumbag's cause? The right to walk into a medical clinic and just kill everybody sitting there? Is there some movement dedicated to that that I've missed?? Or if you define the "cause" broadly as just murderous jihadism, Then all that will happen for those who consider him a martyr is they'll be highlighting the reality that murderous jihadism actually exists.
I don't see anything about this guy as being remotely sympathetic or noble. I intend to watch this guy get put down like the rabid dog he is as a personal reminder that occasionally, justice actually does triumph.
It’ll be interesting to see what the Muslim Dims like NYC’s Madmani have to say about it. An argument could be made that the public execution is the ultimate trolling of Muslim Dims and getting them to expose themselves.
HOORAY President Trump! It DOES NOT matter what us infidels do. The POS Hasan will always be a martyr to the MoFos. Too late but justice for the slaughtered innocent is better than no justice. Sure there will be millions of hero/martyrs willing to step up for the jihadi way. It’s the dilemma that human beings face.
I like the N Korea method. Put the SOB out at the artillery range.
I say to the Post...Grow a pair.
You want public executions? Go join the Taliban. We’re better than that, and we all should thank God that we are.
I’m for capital punishment, especially in this guy’s case but to make it into a TV show is a terrible idea.
Silly, isn’t it.
‘Don’t campaign against your opponent. They will look better”. Oh wait, Republicans do that already.
Public executions were THE NORM from 1608 through the 1930s, here.
You believe our Founding Fathers were the “Taliban?” You believe Abraham Lincoln was like the “Taliban?”
Charlie Kirk was murdered in public, Trump was shot in public...and no one had a choice of whether to watch. People are given a choice here to watch or not a justified, but late execution. Kids see worse on TV, videos, etc. Get real people.
