Okay, all together now: give it up already, you’re too damned old and you’ve been in DC for a lot longer than our Founders had ever planned for. Go home, stay home, try to enjoy what life that remains in you!

Ridiculous. Absolutely ridiculous.

Diane Fienstien. They wheeled this barely conscious zombie to the Senate floor . She died that very day. Used like a rag and thrown away wet.

Senator Grassley is fine at age 93 based on my own life.
He might be okay at 93, but how about at 99? Senate terms are six years. The father of a college friend of mine was in your kind of shape. He was riding a bicycle in hot weather, fell off, and died a few years later. Health was otherwise solid, but everything is considerably more fragile.

I meant to say a few DAYS later, not years. He was 90.

Yes, and they just disappear for months on end with no explanation while on our dime. This is getting ridiculous.

Listen to Grassley sometime when he speaks these days.
He could never write the post you just wrote—not even close.

Governor Kim Reynolds will be leaving office in Jan. No reason why she couldn’t run. Don’t know anything about her other than being a quarter of a century YOUNGER. No mention of if Grassley croaks in office. Why take the chance? We don’t need no special elections. Gettin’ stupid.

I believe it’s David Webb who says that people elected to the U.S. Senate leave in either cuffs or coffins.

Well, he IS still as sharp as a tack...

My only point is there is not a certain age at which everyone turns senile & incompetent. Each individual ages differently depending on lifestyle & inherited genes.
If senator Grassley can run a good campaign at age 93 and convince Iowa voters he is mentally & physically robust, more power to him.

He’ll be 95. He’d be 101 at the end of the term. Does he just want to knock Strom Thurmond out of the record book?

This is why we need term limits for Congress. And I would go for age limits too.
