Another plot against a synagogue, and no one seems to mind.
There is something almost unbearably familiar about the news coming out of Manchester: Two Iranian nationals have been charged with preparing acts of terrorism, in what British authorities describe as a plot directed against the Jewish community.
The arrests occurred on September 20, the eve of Yom Kippur, when Jews throughout Britain were gathering in synagogues for the holiest day of their religious calendar. The planning reportedly involved reconnaissance of Jewish sites and preparations for a homemade chlorine bomb.
The timing — during the Jewish High Holy Days, and on the first anniversary of last year’s deadly Heaton Park synagogue attack — is particularly significant.
If that timing sounds ominous, consider the location. The alleged targets included Jewish sites in Manchester, including the Heaton Park synagogue. That is the same synagogue where, exactly one year earlier, two British Jews were murdered during Yom Kippur.
The names of those victims, Melvin Kravitz and Adrian Daulby, ought not to disappear into the endless news cycle. They were killed because they were Jews attending synagogue.
Here’s where the story becomes considerably more uncomfortable for the people who insist that every terrorist threat must be discussed in isolation, and bears no relationship to all the others. The Metropolitan Police says the two defendants are Iranian nationals, and investigators allege they were in contact with an overseas third party who may be in Iran.
There is another detail that ought to provoke serious discussion: British authorities say both men entered the United Kingdom by small boat. One of the defendants had reportedly received asylum in Britain, while the other had a pending claim.
This raises a perfectly legitimate national security question: How effectively can a government identify hostile actors

It’s not personal. The Brits aren’t even safe in Britain.
These muslim migrants were intentionally let into the country to eliminate the citizens who the leftists hate.
The British were supposed to be safe in Britain
There, I fixed it.
Jews were safe in Britain when Jews were useful to London
Now they have decided the Jews are a good scapegoat, and that Islam will be their global force for “divide-and-rule”
The Muslims hate Women and Gays, it makes no sense
The only thing left for Jews to do is to make Aliyah (immigrate to Israel) and take every pence of their wealth with them. Let the Brits hear the sucking sound of their exit just like Pharoah did. This is not a condemnation of all British because many support Jews AND Israel. I have known them personally. But it is time to get out of Britain.
Uh, pretty sure they are disliked in Britinistan.
As long as there are Muslims in Britain, no Brits are safe in Britain.
As long as there are Muslims in France, no French are safe in France.
As long as their are Muslims in Spain, no Spanish are safe in France.
As long as there are Muslims (and DemocRATz) in America, no Americans are safe in Ameria.
Hmmmmm, methinks I’m beginning to detect a common theme.
And cure.
I was commenting from the viewpoint that the headline implies Britain should protect the Jews, when they don’t even protect legacy Brit citizens.
Moslems hate them both equally.

U.K. Synagogue Goes the Extra Mile to Welcome Refugees
They are the ones who pushed for this, so cry me a river, they are getting what they voted for and what they deserve.
The British have ALWAYS not liked Jews. Don’t know where anyone got the idea that they would be safe there.
Given all the “Christian” charities in the USA push for Muslim immigration I guess Christians asked for it here.
I mean, look at James Talarico’s church. It demands we submit to Islam.
From 1534 to 1850, no Catholics in Britain.
They invented European state sponsored religious persecution.
Should or would? 😊👍🇺🇸🇮🇱
No borders means no security, no safety, no civilization. When England’s borders were not secure whether it was the Romans, the Vikings or the Normans, the culture was fundamentally transformed by invasion and subsequent migrations Although they held against the Napoleonic French and the Nazi Germans, they cannot or will not hold against the Islamic migrants. History repeats and the culture of England ( or whatever the land mass will be called) will again be changed. Americans must come to realize that Chuchill and Thatcher are long dead. Nor will there be any like them to come.
And bail will be set and they will be released before Yom Kippur. Britian isn’t safe for anyone.
There were Catholics in Britain throughout that period, and they were favored under Queen Mary I (1553-1558) and King James II (1685-1688), but they lacked rights (and were persecuted under Elizabeth I). Guy Fawkes Day was an annual celebration of anti-Catholic bigotry.
Charles Carroll of Carrollton, the richest man in Maryland, could not vote as long as Maryland was a British colony.
There are an estimated 454 synagogues in the UK, according to demographic research by the Institute for Jewish Policy Research (JPR).
The 454 represents the largest number of individual synagogue buildings/communities ever recorded in the UK. Even though the number of synagogues is at a record high, total registered synagogue membership has declined to under 80,000 households.
British synagogues span various streams of Judaism, including Orthodox (such as the United Synagogue), Haredi, Reform, and Liberal communities. Most synagogues are concentrated in England—particularly in London, Greater Manchester, and Leeds—with smaller communities located in Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland.
There are 3,104 Catholic parishes and approximately 3,200 Roman Catholic church buildings across the United Kingdom,.
Some 3,000 of these are located in England and Wales alone are open for public worship, and organized into 21 dioceses.
