Nail on the head article by VDH but Trump is not Bush '41. He's got a lot of money and gas prices being used as a club making people forget the price just 2 years ago appear to be working. October is coming up and people will be paying more attention. Let's hope it brings out the Lee Atwater in him.

Also don’t forget the red wave at Biden’s mid-terms...that never happened.

My concern is the shifting demographics. Young people are easily led and AI is the new covid. Time could be on the side of the left. Then there’s the history of the GOP who like Biden will find a way to F—k things up. I guess we’ll just see.

Things that haven’t changed, regardless of party, since the 1980’s.
1. Congress approving enormous deficits spending that is devaluating the currency and destroying affordability and retirements.
2. The Federal Government expansion in both spending and employees (Trumps the only one to have attacked this).
3. Hiding the number of people on assistance in one form or another, and the abuses of the ‘socialist’ system.
4. Congress refusing to protect American industries, American Jobs, Americans as a whole, and the American Economy.
5. Congress people getting rich, while the average American middle class person is being destroyed.
6. Relentless growth in power of the Federal Government, not just in employees and spending, but essentially overreaching into Congressional responsibilities. With the Congress becoming more and more irresponsible.

feel free to add more.

The decline started in 88 with H. The Globalists went unchecked untill 2016. We are far far far from safe.

I think the crime reduction and reduction in drug deaths alone differentiates him from ineffective presidencies of the past. There are a lot of urban blacks that have noticed the difference.

Gas is high. Diesel is higher. Those who want to buy a house can't afford to.

Many people here are whistling past the graveyard. They refuse to acknowledge there's a "affordability crisis". Advantage to Democrats for framing the narrative. A loss for Republicans for failing to acknowledge the problem and offer solutions.

People vote based on their own personal situation. If they are broke and can’t pay their bills, they’re not going to be convinced by statistics.

Ping! Out to the Victor Davis Hanson list

Rather, November 3 represents normality and common sense pitted against an unrecognizable “Democratic” revolutionary party that is driven by Islamist-sympathizing socialist zealots who are not fond of the United States as it has existed for 250 years. They are not shy about planning to remake America along the lines of, at best, radical European socialism and, at worst, something resembling Cuba.

Cynical Publius
@CynicalPublius

Please ask yourself two questions:

1. When was the last time that pre-election media were predicting huge Democrat losses?

2. When was the last time that pre-election media were NOT predicting huge Republican losses?

Since the pattern is obvious, why do you let it be repeated in your own mind?

This is war. Information war. Fear is the mind killer.

I remember the 92 election as providing one of the clearest examples of media bias I’ve ever seen. The recession actually ended early in the year, though Clinton successfully lied all year, with the help of the media, that it was ongoing, and that it was bad. In June unemployment ticked up. Per the article in the San Jose mercury News, everyone agreed that it was a fluke/ statistical anomaly , but that didn’t prevent them from putting the article on page one with this headline in 64 point type: ECONOMY HITS THE SKIDS

The day after the 1992 election was an inflection point for me. Up to that time, I was a regular viewer of the CBS Nightly News with Dan Rather. Every day, CBS ran stories torching the economy, which included a regular segment called "The Money Crunch."

After taking a long victory lap over the Clinton win, Rather started off a report saying "We are now seeing signs the economy is starting to rebound...". I turned off the TV and never watched another Establishment news broadcast again. 34 years and counting.

Indeed, the average daily fatality rate due to accidents in all branches of the military during the seven months of the Iran conflict is some eleven times greater than the number of those killed fighting Iran.

An amazing reminder from VDH!

I’m wondering if some wealthy Dummies will try to crash the stock market in October. Though the market has lots of brakes and buffers, the AI bubble may be ripe for a correction.

President Trump should announce that we will be refining and shipping diesel from Kharg Island within a year, with or without Irans help. There is gonna be a worldwide glut of diesel!
