Not in the way you might think.
Evolution might favor more low IQ, feral children from single moms, because the current environment encourages their reproduction. Whereas evolution might disfavor children from high IQ stable homes.
Evolution does not always favor the smartest, strongest, or prettiest. Only those best able to adapt to the current environment.
I suspect you watched this movie as well . The Welfare model eventually collapses. Then it is back to actual productive people in charge of actually producing things . Look how far freedom in America has carried it over the rest. Even though America has been slowly losing its freedom it has set the model for someone else to follow eventually even if America fails to recover. Evolution is ruthless. It only cares about the winners
There was a documentary called “Idiocracy” about that.
Humans can have one of two reproductive strategies. The first reproductive strategy is to produce large numbers of offspring with minimal investment into each offspring, i.e. large quantity, low quality. The second is to have fewer offspring with large investment into those that are produced, i.e quality over quantity.
In an unstable, unpredictable environment, the first strategy outperforms the second. That's the strategy that you see in the Third World and among the poor in the developed world. If they keep up with this strategy even when most of their kids survive thanks to affluent surroundings and/or a welfare state, they get the best of both worlds.
