Islam is an ideology of war and conquest, not a religion of peace.
Last Thursday, President George W. Bush sat down with his former secretary of state, Condoleezza Rice, to discuss the September 11, 2001, Islamic terror attacks on the United States. While reflecting on his actions twenty-five years earlier, Bush went out of his way to defend Islam: “I also made it clear that Islam was a religion of peace, not a religion of war, and that these people subverted their religion.” Bush’s absurd statement echoed a similarly absurd statement he made days after the attacks when he told the world, “Islam is peace,” even though the burned bodies of three thousand dead Americans strongly suggested otherwise. There have been 50,000 Islamic terror attacks since 9/11. Without question, Islam is a cult of conquest, misery, and war.
Bush’s Islamic appeasement angered me twenty-five years ago, and his continued appeasement infuriates me today. I cannot believe that the man who asked Americans to go to war against an Islamic menace that threatened (and still threatens) the world can be so intellectually shallow and morally obtuse. “Islam is a religion of peace,” is a disingenuous stock phrase that is too cute by half. President Barack Obama loves to tell the same lie.
While Americans fought and died in foreign lands in an effort to keep Islam’s homicidal evil from causing further harm to the United States, Bush and Obama resettled Muslims into America’s heartland. Twenty-five years ago, the sight of a woman wearing a burqa in the Midwest would have shocked and worried passersby. Today, it is too common for anyone to feign surprise. Finally. Some of us still feel the Sting from being banned on this forum for daring to criticize that traitor! We gave him the benefit of the doubt far longer than he deserved.
He ushered in the first Ramadan celebration in the white house. Then he let Grover Norquist fill the administration with Muslims like Norquists wife appointed by Bush as religious expert for usaid for decades!!
I didn’t like it, when I heard HW say we were going to have a kinder, gentler nation. I liked it even less, when W came up with his nutball statement. I got no time for ANY Bush member.

The best that can be said for GWB is that Al Gore and John F. Kerry would have been worse. At least one of GWB's Supreme Court appointments was excellent, and the other one isn't as bad as someone Kerry would have picked.
That being said, I agree with the much of this thread's disdain toward Bush regarding Islam. It's not a religion of peace. And we should have gone to war with Afghanistan not with a mindset o not losing, but with a mindset of winning. The same way we should have gone to war against Pakistan (for being about as responsible as Afghanistan was for propping up Al Qaeda to attack us).
And though I just fussed about Trump going to war against Iran without Congress' permission, I like fighting back against Iran after the numerous attacks they did on American ships in the Red Sea (read: Suez Canal) through their terrorist Houthi proxies starting in late 2023 through 2024 (read: last year+ of Biden) with only small tit-for-tat responses from us until Trump entered the WH.
Unfortunately for us and the world, Mohammad was more successful than most because of the public health innovations he introduced as integral to religious observation. The religion includes instructions on many behaviors people must practice in their daily lives. An important religious observation is call to prayer 5 times a day. Before prayer the Muslim is required to wash his hands. [modern US observation, 70% of men using public toilets do NOT wash their hands before exiting). In traditional Muslim countries people eat from a communal pot. Rules require that the left hand be used for body cleaning when relieving oneself, and the right hand for dipping into the communal food tray. Forks, spoons and dinner plates were not common meal accessories. Thus the lack of water for dish washing was not so dangerous. This rule is also why penalty for theft requires cutting off of right hand. And was often a death sentence. Only a person with some good qualities would then be feed separately by those who they lived with as dipping into the community pot was now impossible.
These rules undoubtedly prevented the spread of disease in Mohammad’s armies to a greater degree than infections suffered by non Muslim armies. Thus Muslim military successes.
