A new law requiring hairdressers in New York to learn how to do all hair types including Black hair is now in effect.
Starting Tuesday, anyone studying cosmetology in the state must be trained to work with diverse types of hair textures.
The number of hours needed to get a license won't change.
Instruction on how to do curly, wavy, coily and kinky hair must be integrated into the curriculum.
The goal of the law is to stop anyone from being turned away from a salon.

I've never said this to anyone before, but I think you need a new hobby.
lol It’s not really a hobby. I just find it fascinating the time, effort and skill it takes to maintain black hair. It really is interesting to me. I have a friend who is always doing fun, cute things with her hair (braids, bush (as she calls it), straightened, you name it. The hairdressers that can skillfully style and braid black hair really are artists.
I wonder what would happen if folks had a friend to cut their hair who’d come to your home or have you over to theirs, who’d accept a store gift card (paid for in cash) from their friend for the thoughtful favor of cutting their hair...

Not everyone needs a daily shampoo.
I no longer do my graying, thinning honky hair everyday and my hair loves me for it.
I don’t know I just put a key in the wall socket.
