So we are supposed to believe someone who says they lied under oath? If Sandusky is freed, theis guy should serve the rest of his sentence. (I know that’s not the way the law works, but it should).

The real problem is that all of the other victims will probably have to be hauled in to be interviewed to discover it they also were coached on their testimony.

One tainted witness (depending on how much was false) is not going to get Sandusky a new trial IMO.

If the other victims stick to their story I don’t see this as a game changer.

The prosecutors in the case should be sanctioned if the coaching was not to accepted standards.

Remember the McMartin preschool trials?

Ray Buckey was retried later on 6 of the 13 counts of which he was not acquitted in the first trial. The second trial opened on May 7, 1990, and resulted in another hung jury on July 27, 1990. The prosecution then gave up trying to obtain a conviction, and the case was closed with all charges against Ray Buckey dismissed. He had been jailed for five years without ever being convicted of any crime.

The case lasted seven years and cost $15 million,[48] the longest and most expensive criminal case in the history of the United States legal system, and ultimately resulted in no convictions.[2][5][26] The McMartin Preschool closed, and the building was ultimately demolished. In 2005, one of the children (as an adult) retracted the allegations of abuse.[19][49]

Never did anyone do anything to me, and I never saw them doing anything. I said a lot of things that didn't happen. I lied. ... Anytime I would give them an answer that they didn't like, they would ask again and encourage me to give them the answer they were looking for. ... I felt uncomfortable and a little ashamed that I was being dishonest. But at the same time, being the type of person I was, whatever my parents wanted me to do, I would do
A similar case was The Fells Acres Case

It won't help Coach Paterno, his reputation was already unfairly distroyed

He’s actually saying he is no longer sure it happened. It’s not uncommon in these cases. He’s not necessarily saying it didn’t happen.
