Jerry Sandusky is due to return to court next month as one of his accusers is expected to recant his testimony against the former Penn State assistant football coach who was convicted of sexually abusing boys for more than a decade, according to an affidavit.
A judge scheduled an evidentiary hearing for Sept. 8 in Bellefonte, Pennsylvania.
Sandusky, who is now 82, has been serving a decades-long prison sentence after he was convicted in 2012 of abusing boys.
An accuser known as Victim 10, who testified for the prosecution at Sandusky's trial, is now prepared to tell the court Sandusky did not abuse him.
Victim 10 alleges prosecutors coached him in order to steer his testimony and asked him to revisit and reframe his allegations, writing in a sworn affidavit provided to the defense that "[t]hroughout the pretrial process, I was told -- both directly and indirectly -- that trauma may have fragmented my memory, and that I could safely affirm details I did not fully recall. I was assured this was common and even expected." The Pennsylvania Attorney General's office is expected to address the allegation at September's hearing.

LOL! The sad thing is that Nifong would’ve gotten away with it if the parents of the LaCrosse boys weren’t able to afford the best legal help to blow the lid off his railroad job.

Didn’t Paterno’s assistant coach (I forget his name) actually witness some of the abuse?
Mike McQueary only witnesses Sandusky engaged in a wet towel fight in the shower, what jocks do. The boy in the shower was Allan Myers, and he gave a statement that's all that ever happened. He was also recruited by ambulance chasing attorney Andrew Shubin to make civil abuse claims, and hid Myers during the trial, in which he never testified.

He’s actually saying he is no longer sure it happened. It’s not uncommon in these cases. He’s not necessarily saying it didn’t happen.

I had a few conversations with God about the unfair treatment of Joe Paterno. Joe was a by the rules guy. He would have benched his starting quarterback for a bowl game if warranted. He also really cared about his players. My son lived in the on campus dorm with the football team for a summer. There is good reason that Joe’s players have a higher grade point average and graduation rate than most teams.
The State Attorney General who prosecuted this case used it for publicity to win the Governor seat. As Governor, he was automatically on Penn State’s Board of Trustees where he was unfair to Joe.
Joe Paterno spent his life insisting that football players were to be student athletes that met the school's academic standards, and that anything else was unethically using the players to make money for the school. He refused to interfere in those standards. He was never going to tell the university president what to do about the behavior of his players or his coaches. Yet, he was vilified for not doing more about allegations of sexual abuse that were exaggerated from one of his assistant coaches witnessing Sandusky engaged in a wet towel fight with a kid in the shower, what jocks always did.

I knew him when he was a judge and Ranck was the president judge. Feudale was an extremely honest person as well as intelligent. He also had a very good sense of humor.
All of the Centre County judges recused themselves from the case. Judge John Cleland of McKean County presided over Sandusky's trial.

Tony married my next door neighbor growing up, Melinda. After not seeing each other for 30+ years, I ran into her and Tony at a Penn State event in Shamokin a few years ago.
She has now passed on.
