Climate zealots’ net-zero push dies a quiet death — and not a moment too soon (only 4.42 years left)

What a difference a few years make.

Not long ago, politicians said climate change was going to kill us, so we must move to “net zero” emissions.

This is theoretically possible: Since vegetation removes carbon, we could get to net zero by burning fewer fossil fuels.

Governments everywhere pledged to do just that.

President Joe Biden and European leaders promised “net zero by 2050.”

For a while, it seemed like it might happen.

Spain invested billions in its solar-power grid; Germany claimed to get most of its power from renewables.

But now they realize that they made a mistake.

European businesses closed as electricity costs rose — and last year, Spain’s electricity supply shut down for 16 hours.

It was a wake-up call for the green dream.

“The power outages are the starkest illustration of bad electricity policy,” said Alex Epstein, author of “The Moral Case for Fossil Fuels.”

“You can avoid power outages with these bad policies. What you can’t avoid is scarcity and rationing and poverty.”

On top of that, the push for net zero left people more vulnerable to climate extremes.

There were 10,000 excess deaths this year during a heat wave in June, Reuters reported.

They have moved on to data center hatred. Granted there are concerns and requirements that need to be addressed but there will be no accommodations good enough for the climate zealot cross-overs.

Notice how Jane Fonda and the "China Syndronme" anti-nuke "activists" have disappeared?
In the 1970s nuclear power was going to destroy the world and kill us all.

Now? Crickets.

But now they realize that they made a mistake.

A mistake that anyone with an undergraduate-level understanding of chemistry could have predicted after about two minutes of thought.

CO2 is vital for plant growth. Once it goes below a certain level plants die. This is why it can't reach zero because of plants.

they know that data centers take a HUGE amount of electricity and the physical environment around the data center changes a lot

I wonder how much overlap there is in the instigator roots, organizers, legal representation and funding?

locally those resisting the data centers are conservative property owners
they want to scrape away hundreds of acres of pristine range and install solar arrays, battery storage facilities, and data centers
we are resisting
the projects are funded by the big money
Alex Newman has a lot to say about the data centers

Germany is still getting some of its gas from Russia so it is funding both sides of the war. Guess they should have listened to President Trump.
