Xavier Becerra floats bizarre plan to slash Californians’ utility bills ("1pm to 3pm and if you do that, I won’t charge you.")

California gubernatorial candidate Xavier Becerra has claimed he will slash people’s utility bills by granting two hours of free electricity per day — a plan his rival has blasted as “disqualifyingly stupid.”

The Democrat unveiled his new policy pitch on Tuesday to give the handout to lower-income families, though he failed to lay out how it would be designed or funded.

The so-called “power hour” plan comes as Californians struggle with the state’s increasingly high cost of living.

Part of that crisis includes skyrocketing energy bills, which his opponent, Republican Steve Hilton, has also targeted.

Californians have seen their energy bills spike by 39% over the past six years — the most by far of any state, according to UC Berkeley’s Haas Energy Institute — thanks in part to the destructive wildfires that have torn through Los Angeles and other areas, and policy choices that have shoved costs on to rate payers.

“We already do programs for folks, for Californians, who can’t afford their electricity bills,” Becerra said at an event hosted by Politico.

“We can use some of that money to not just give them a break in their bill, but also [incentivize] them to be smart about when they use energy.”

Becerra claimed his new idea would relieve stress on the electricity grid by nudging users to use more of their electricity during the day when solar power is at its peak.

Commie could be late to the game. Cuba started this master plan years ago. And if two hours is free, why not three or maybe even four? Everyone wins with free crap.

Someone said that the smart people with Tesla’s will order some sort of thing that sounds like a battery pack and program it to recharge during the free hours.

Break the system

Once electricity is outlawed for use by the general public, it will cost you nothing.

I would like to hear him describe what image of the usefulness of this to the public, is in his mind.

In related news, I’m kicking off my campaign for Congress tomorrow. My platform can be described in two simple words.

Since I live in a heavily D district, I figure I’m a shoo in.

People on welfare do not own Teslas. They are not smart with their money. Look at their grocery carts, hair weaves and cell phones. Do you think they are going to arrange their lives to plug in their appliances?

As I heard, everyone gets free power those two hours.

I’m sorry, not free, taxpayer paid.

This may actually make sense.

Put timers on your electric hot water heaters.

Use the electricity when the sun is shining.

Charge batteries, cook food, etc.

Then less electricity will be needed at night.

It is so stupid it definitely sounds like a plan from the Commie Islam left.

My neighbor was complaining about his bill one day, he let me see it and it showed he was on “Time of Use” billing. My bill for 2 houses was still only 1/3 of what his was. When he called SCE and switched back to “Standard Billing” his bill went from $900 to $200. I don’t know if they will let you switch still, but I did it when TOU was first introduced.

Xavier Becerra is up to his eyeballs in exposure for “child trafficking.”

The podcaster of these truths is a former USMC combat veteran as well as a Southern California LEO. He’s not reporting BS with what he’s reporting about Becerra and quotes whistleblowers who were interviewed about this.

Warning, the discussion of child trafficking is hard to listen to. Be forewarned. Stuff I heard was hard to not think about for days.

And He Won’t Charge Us..........yeah right, tell me Senor La Raza, where exactly will the money come from to pay the utility companies for this ‘free’ electricity? Are ya gonna tax the rich that haven’t yet left the state yet(great incentive by the way), or maybe you will tax those corporations that haven’t yet fled the state? No you’ll hammer the middle class that you already force to pay for you illegal brethren to pony up for it. Great plan Puto! I guess the exodus from California wasn’t large enough for you.

Looks like this bumbling, bureaucratic idiot will be the next governor of the state.

If he does offer free hours of electricity, I will set an alarm each day and run every appliance I have, especially the a/c set as low as possible to cool off the house as much as possible before payment begins.

He was a complete failure as HHS Secretary and will be as governor of California.

What his former democrat colleagues say about him:

"Former Colleagues Found Becerra “Asleep at the Wheel” During Crises"

"'He did not have the grasp of the agency or the role that I think you want in an executive,' said a former White House official under then-President Joe Biden."

"Notably, former Vice President Kamala Harris and former Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas have both declined to endorse Becerra for governor."

Not the problem for him. He will do what Newscum does on every scam — get the other 49 states to fund it.

No, the problem is that between 1-3P is when electricity usage is highest ‘cause unlike the savages in the EU, we have AC. That means that the transimission and distribution systems are already loaded. Dumping EV charging and laundry on that will cause blackouts.
Just like every other collectivist gov’mt in all of time.

Then less electricity will be needed at night.

I think nighttime usage is quite a bit less, not more. When I was stationed in England, the rate was quite a bit cheaper after 10:30, so we'd wait until after 10:30 to use the dryer. I think the big usage hours were during the day by big industrial users.
