WASHINGTON — Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley beat Democratic socialist Francesca Hong in a come-from-behind victory during the Wisconsin gubernatorial primary Tuesday night.
Crowley, 40, was ahead of the 37-year-old state representative and member of the Democratic Socialists of America 39.8% to 39.4% when the race was called by the Associated Press at 3:34 a.m.
Surveys ahead of the Badger State Democratic contest had consistently showed Hong besting Crowley by double digit percentage points. Crowley had also dropped out of the race weeks before and even endorsed another opponent, before re-entering the contest and receiving the backing of outgoing Gov. Tony Evers.
“Our team campaigned clean, our souls are intact and we really made meaningful change for the progressive movement,” Hong’s campaign Becky Cooper said after the DSA pol conceded.
The margin between the two candidates was less than one percentage point, meaning Hong could’ve requested a recount before her concession.
However, because the margin was wider than 0.25 percentage points, she would’ve had to foot the bill.
Crowley, who is seeking to be Wisconsin’s first black governor, hasn’t addressed his supporters yet but his campaign manager, Garren Randolph, said the pol was “grateful” to voters who took part in the primary.

Same with el Sayed in Michigan who was polling a landslide win only to have the results cut very close.
They're oversampling DSA areas, that's all. Why? Probably to drive money and enthusiasm away from non-DSA candidates.

If Tom Tiffany’s campaign approaches this from the point that Crowley and Milwaukee County are deeply in debt, mismanaged and full of corruption, it should still be an easy win versus an even EASIER win against Hong.
Do Wisconsinites want our entire STATE fiscally run the way Crowley runs Milwaukee’s pocketbook?

Maybe, but there’s the margin of cheat which is around 5%. Above that it’s just to hard to hide. The logistics of cheating a 20% swing would be massive, and just way too obvious

I was trying to carefully word my response as I expected to get backlash for even suggesting the country is going down the tubes during a Trump administration.
Which begs to ask the question, how is this possible with MAGA in control? Seems it’s just slowed down the destruction and when Dems get in power the destruction will continue unabated.
And yet she still got THAT many votes in the Dem primary to not be a local congress critter or state senator, but Governor of a state. What’s with the rise of the loobey left winning governor races, the seemingly separate at birth governors from Virginia and NJ?
Unless they cheat and she wins anyways...

I am hearing “moderate” won over too many reports. Once again the GOP lets the media control the language. What is moderate about a black dude that supports stabbing unborn black babies in the back of the head. It is a sickness to continually soft sell these Marxists imo.
