The Dukes Of Hazzard star Ben Jones passed away at the age of 84 on Sunday, August 9 after suffering a heart attack.
The late actor's death was announced by his wife, Alma Viator, in an emotional Facebook post.
'I lost the love of my life today,' she wrote on Sunday. 'Ben passed from a massive heart attack.'
Viator, who had married Jones in 1992, continued, 'He was home resting in his favorite chair waiting for the Braves to come on and whoop the Yankees.
'Ben had the most amazing rich full life. He loved and was loved by so many. He will be missed. I loved him so so much.'
Jones, who had also served four years in the U.S. House of Representatives, was known for his role as Cooter Davenport on The Dukes Of Hazzard series which aired on CBS. The late star was born on August 30, 1941 in the state of North Carolina and later graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1959.
Jones was accepted into the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and began to pursue his interest in acting by being a part of productions through the Carolina Playmakers.

Agreed, but what’s going on down here? I’m seeing a lot of stills being sold now.
If you area Gen Xer, you just got a whole punched in your membership card. It’s not the fact you didn’t like the show, “Different Strokes” right (see what I did there?). It’s the fact that you used “ that show to be one long, offensive stereotype” as the reason why.
I felt the same way with the stupid Urban Cowboy movie.
Ben Jones means the number of cast members of the Dukes will soon be just the main three characters.
Probably making room for Chinese run pot farms (up in Maine, there are hundreds of them, yet authorities know how many but can’t seem to find and shut them down? Can’t see that a farmhouse whose daily kw pH was 30 jumping up to 300 or whatever they use with their grow .ights) might indicate a pot farm?

Jones was an interesting character. He was a hyper-partisan Democrat in the 1990s. He hated Newt Gingrich and tried to bring him down. But he also was a conservative Democrat. The party got more liberal and passed him by to the point where he ended his career attacking the Woke direction the party was taking. I think he ended up an independent.
