Reading FR then flicking to Twitter/X is sometimes like night and day. There's a lot of dissent there among those I happen to follow (NOT Lefitsts or anything like that) regarding: Israel, Iran War, foreign policy and the Administration generally.
A lot of hot topics that get discussed here all the time and former Representatives or officials are leading the charge: MTG, Kent, Tucker Carlson and Massie the most prominent with many large accounts echoing them.
It's clear to me this is more than just a few rebels who have no influence or standing in fact MTG says in one of her latest posts: "The Movement has begun".
She is referring to 'MAGA 2.0' and a split from the Trump admin who they accuse of breaking promises of no more foreign wars and for their handling of the Epstein saga.
This has implications I think for Vance or anyone else in the administration who might want to run for president in future.
This is just an observation. I'm no troll but feel hesitant to post (or re-post) some of their stuff because it might attract complaints.
Sometimes I feel like walking on egg shells especially with foreign policy posts which I think is the main fissure in play and where some of us naturally agree with them on.
Are Twitter/X ahead of the curve or out of order?
Same as the DBags who invaded deSanti’s campaign and trolled with lies about DJTrump.
Invaders. Liars. Believe nothing they have to say about anything, especially that the MAGA party is split. It is not. These are just the bleatings like the Seditious6.
“”Get your facts straight: Trump borrowed “MAGA” from Reagan. Conservatism has always been about policy and agenda. Not Dear Leader populism.””
***
That was then, this is now and now... MAGA is, in fact, representative of Trump... as it was representative of Reagan when Reagan was in the WH.
And btw, you said that like it’s a bad thing, to have borrowed from Reagan, one of THE best presidents in US history. Why is that, I wonder....? Is “”Dear Leader populism”” only a bad thing to you if/when it’s a Republican?
No, it’s because ObamaCare and our fiscal responsibility effectively screw younger Americans for the benefit of older Americans. Older Americans are a core GOP demographic, while younger Americans are predominantly Democrats.
It’s really that simple.
Follow the money. Who is paying those four’s bills? Islam, China, CNN.
Sorry — that’s fiscal IRRESPONSIBILITY.
Saddam would have NEVER let Iran have a nuke. So even if I grant the premise that Iran had one or was close to one, taking out Saddam exacerbated the problem. But the deep state and the Military Industrial Complex won’t admit their mistake and Bush and the neocons CERTAINLY won’t admit their mistake.
Anything Tucker Carlson is involved in is a money grab looking to cash in on gullible people.
FR is primarily boomers with a large % of evangelicals which differs from the majority of posters on X. There’s a big generational gap between boomer conservatives and younger conservatives as you’ve probably noticed. I happen to agree with the younger conservatives and get attacked all the time when posting here, which is why I spend more time on X these days than here. Boomers are heavily indoctrinated compared to the younger generations that have been exposed to more alternative media with different viewpoints.
The MAGA slogan is dying, and candidates will almost certainly not use this label for themselves after November’s election. Too many promises were made but not kept: the Epstein files, no new wars, DOGE, low inflation, prosecuting the Deep State, putting America First, not engaging in corruption, et cetera. The 2028 primary will be between the Trotskyite NeoLiberal-NeoCons currently pushing Rubio, and the economic populist, America first crowd likely represented by Vance.
Saddam would be almost 90 now and was writing a Quran in his own blood.
I think the guy that convinced Trump to attack Iran was buried a couple of weeks ago.
“””””Saddam would have NEVER let Iran have a nuke. “””””
How would he have prevented it? Aside from being about 89 now, don’t you remember the Iran/Iraq war?
I would bet good money that they are all heavily under the financial influence of interests not aligned with true MAGA.
A few tens of millions to buy these clowns off is a great investment if you want to see America brought down.
That’s a load of crap.
He’s doing great - especially foreign policy..
You just don’t understand yet what he’s doing and why it needs to be done.
Follow the $$$$$$$$$$
The primaries will be a slam dunk for VP Vance.
Rubio is establishment and everyone can see it
Whoever Jim willed FR it to.
Vance is NOT tied to those lunatics - that is just another TDS driven narrative intended to marginalize Vance.
I agree that saying “Trump is MAGA and MAGA is Trump” suggests an unhealthy dependency on the man.
But I think the intention was a completely different point, namely, that those four lunatics (Tucker Carlson, et. al) cannot claim MAGA 2.0, and that is a legitimate point.
Personally, I don’t feel the slightest bit let down or betrayed by President Trump, and as a proud MAGA patriot who also loves Trump, I resent these clowns trying to steal MAGA from Trump.
Because of that, when I read “Trump is MAGA and MAGA is Trump”, I agreed with the sentiment... but I did not take it as some kind if implication that MAGA was a cult of personality.
That make any sense?
