Since when does “once dated” mean having sex?

I dated lots of men when I was young, with whom I never had sex; including one I dated off and on over a span of ten years.

Do you think Washington politicians date interns for the sophisticated conversation?

Per the story, the relationship ended 10 years ago. Per Wikipedia, Stalwell married his most recent wife 10 years ago.

You make a very salient point.

Well, since relationships have been flipped on their head the past few decades (where the sex comes first before any sort of actual meaningful relationship), I think the assumption, fairly or not, is there must have been sex if they were ‘dating’. Otherwise, they wouldn’t even bother to use the word.

Not saying I like it, but that seems to be how it’s been for a lot of people.

You are right! You must have belonged to the same “old school” that I belonged to. I can’t say I dated lots of men - just a childhood/high school sweetheart who I married but that was just the way it was in “those days.”

I never said "Having sex". I said "canoodled", which as I understand it, falls short of "having sexual relations". I had never dated a known pro-abort woman as an adult. I would expect a healthy woman to not go near a known pro-abort man. If dating means more than having lunch together because we were classmates once upon a time, or an informal get-together to discuss a business matter, I would consider a woman whose judgment includes spending time out in anthing that could be called a date with the likes of Eric Swalwell to be a disqualifying factor.

You probably “made love” like that lyrics of a Sinatra song oo. Language changes over time, but you know that.

I wouldnt trust her judgement. If someone is spending time with both sides, what is their true allegiance?

Since when does “once dated” mean...

From an early 40-something, my observation is --despite the 60s cultural revolution and consequent degradation of morality-- the equation of the two has been as much of a push as a reality.

This has bothered me for a long time. Every where the Left controls the script, the idea is celebrated, glamourized, and normalized. "See! You're missing out! See! Everyone does it!" It's shoved down our throats with such force, even non-Christians should notice.

God is not mocked, however, and no matter how unashamed individuals or cultures become of their sin, the consequences will always come.

“We can ignore reality, but we cannot ignore the consequences of ignoring reality”- attributed to Ayn Rand
