“And then, one day, my mother told me that I once got locked in a bathroom with a bucket full of water as a kid.” Very strange story.
My parents used to tell me when I was a kid (probably 6-7 years old) that if I was bad they were going to throw me away in the garbage.
One day I was in the alley behind my house in the city and started climbing a tree (my parents worked different shifts, so I was not frequently supervised). I slipped and fell into one of the 50 gallon oil drums that was the standard for garbage in alleys at the time. Realizing I was in the garbage can (which was taller than me at the point) I got hysterical and started screaming “don’t throw me away with the garbage”.
It was not the kind of childhood you think about with sweet nostalgia.
