When ‘non-dogmatic’ information becomes FREE & TRANSPARENT it becomes a threat to those who attempt to control the narrative and/or the stable.
When you are awake, you stand on the outside of the stable (‘group-think’ collective), and have ‘free thought’.
"Free thought" is a philosophical viewpoint which holds that positions regarding truth should be formed on the basis of logic, reason, and empiricism, rather than authority, tradition, revelation, or dogma.
When you are awake, you are able to clearly see.
The choice is yours, and yours alone.
Trust and put faith in yourself.
You are not alone and you are not in the minority.

One of my dad's fellow teachers had a huge library of paperback books, one of them being H. Allen Smith's "Don't Get Perconal With a Chicken." IIRC, I was handed it in order to keep me quiet and out of the way; I was probably in 4th grade or so, and I thought it was hilarious.

While in college, I ran across a bunch of hardbound H. Allen Smith books in the university's library, and worked my way through the lot. The writing style and the namedropping were both dated by then, but I still found them (mostly) funny.

Byron Donalds attended a candlelight vigil in East Naples (Southwest Florida) related to Trayvon Martin around late March/early April 2012, but available records do not include a full transcript or detailed quotes of any speech he gave at the event itself.

He later described attending it (in a April 7, 2012 speech to the Sanibel-Captiva Republican Club while running for Congress) and framed his participation in partisan/conservative terms rather than as an endorsement of the dominant progressive narrative around the case.

His own words about attending (April 7, 2012)

In that Republican Club speech, Donalds said roughly:

“A week ago I was invited to a vigil for this whole Trayvon Martin situation in East Naples. It was a candlelight vigil. The gentlemen who put it together [were] from a group called Call Your Men of Character. They’re good men. I knew where their hearts were at when they asked me, so I said I would go. My wife said to me, ‘Why are you going to this? You see what’s going on in the news media.’ And I told her our party cannot just leave this playing ground to the likes of Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson.”

He positioned the decision as a Republican/Tea Party figure and youth leader (he served in church youth ministry and related community roles) refusing to cede community discussion of the case to figures associated with the left. Campaign statements in later years have described the attendance similarly: as a youth leader promoting unity and a nonviolent response amid protests, not as public “support” for a particular side in the Zimmerman case or the emerging racial-justice framing. Trayvon Martin, a 17-year-old Black teenager, was shot and killed by neighborhood-watch volunteer George Zimmerman on February 26, 2012, in Sanford, Florida. Zimmerman claimed self-defense; local police initially did not arrest him. The case exploded nationally in March 2012 amid claims of racial profiling, “Stand Your Ground” laws, and delayed justice. Protests, hoodie marches, vigils, and rallies occurred across Florida and the country (including involvement by Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, and others). President Obama commented on March 23 that “if I had a son, he’d look like Trayvon.” Zimmerman was charged in mid-April.
