President Donald Trump raged to Fox News’s Trey Yingst about Tuesday night’s surprise attack by Iran on U.S. troops in Jordan, telling him “we are going to beat the ------- ---- out of them.”
Yingst, Fox’s chief foreign correspondent, reported on Trump’s comments while joining Fox & Friends on Wednesday morning and noted that Trump added, “We’ll be hitting them hard.”
“Yeah, guys, good morning. President Trump reacting to that Iranian attack on U.S. forces overnight in Jordan. President Trump tells Fox News about Iran: ‘We are going to beat the ------- ---- out of them.’ He went on to say, ‘We’ll be hitting them hard. They’re going to get a beating,’” Yingst began his report, adding:
So clearly, the United States is going to respond to what the president described as a surprise attack. He says U.S. forces had just minutes to shoot down these incoming Iranian ballistic missiles. The president says he has reviewed video of the shoot-down, and it was U.S. forces conducting this operation to defend that area. He said it was real-time — they were calling out coordinates and ensuring that none of this incoming Iranian fire got through.
I also asked the president about those U.S. and Saudi airstrikes against Iran-backed Iraqi Shia militias overnight. He says those strikes were coordinated with the Iraqi government. He called these Iran-backed militias “a cancer on the world” and says he is considering additional warnings against Iranian proxies and their link to the Iranian regime.
The president also talked about his meeting yesterday with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in the Oval Office. He says it was a great meeting — he understands now. It appears that the relationship between President Trump and the Israeli prime minister is strengthening. And again, the president called that meeting in the Oval great.
In terms of possible talks with the Iranian regime, the president says, “We’re going to let them keep talking.” Remember, the Iranians came to President Trump after 13 straight days of U.S. bombing against Iran, asking to meet about the Strait of Hormuz and their broader nuclear ambitions, and those talks are taking place as we speak, behind the scenes — and then this surprise attack launched against U.S. forces overnight. And again, President Trump telling Fox News, “We are going to beat the effing s*** out of them,” and that U.S. strikes will take place against Iran in response to the surprise attack overnight against U.S. forces in Jordan.
“What’s intriguing, too, is we understand the previous attacks were with Saudi Arabia. This whole thing started with Epic Fury, with Israel. Do you sense that there might be a comprehensive plan in place, or being worked on, that would involve Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, UAE — who at various times have taken unilateral action on their own — along with the IDF?” followed up host Brian Kilmeade.
“It’s absolutely possible, because the Iranian plan here backfired. By attacking all of these Gulf countries, they built an informal coalition that is now targeting Iranian proxies in the region, and even Iranian territory,” Yingst replied, adding:
And we saw that last night on display: Saudi Arabia publicly admitting that they are participating in strikes against Iranian proxies in Iraq alongside U.S. forces. And other countries in the Gulf have participated in a limited capacity against the Iranians, targeting some of these coastal areas around the city of Bandar Abbas, next to the Persian Gulf, where many of those U.S. strikes took place.
And remember, when we spoke with President Trump earlier this year during Operation Epic Fury, he said he was most surprised by the fact that the Iranians were targeting these countries that were uninvolved — that were not striking Iran at the time. And so, again, what Iran has done here by targeting these Gulf countries is actually building this informal coalition that is now being used to pressure the Iranian regime.
The question remains if these talks will lead to some sort of agreement. But again, President Trump tells Fox News there will be a U.S. response to this surprise attack overnight against U.S. forces in Jordan.

I can't believe, on a Constitutional website, I have to keep bringing this up, BUT
Our men who went into combat in Vietnam went without this:
" the President is hereby authorized and directed to employ the entire naval and military forces of the United States and the resources of the Government to carry on war against [enemy]; and, to bring the conflict to a successful termination, all the resources of the country are hereby pledged by the Congress of the United States"
Notice: The President is authorized AND DIRECTED - places the War Power where it belongs...ALL THE RESOURCES OF THE COUNTRY are...PLEDGED by [The People and the States} a/k/a Congress.
No American should ever be sent into combat without that in his back pocket.
Oh, and yes, I've already heard that Congress will refuse to declare war on Vietnam, Iraq, Iran. No need to bring it up again.
If the People, and the States, are against a foreign war - that's really all you need to know.
My family is harcore conservatie. Has been since before FDR. We’ve supported the President significantly, but this year is turning into a disaster.
I’m afraid he fell into another Chinese Finger Trap - just like he did for Covid. Now China is arming Iran, giving them intelligence and probably a whole lot more we can’t even imagine. Might even be Chinese troops on the ground there that we haven’t learned about yet.
Plus, the President keeps pausing too early. If there was no initial paus several months ago, this war would likely be over. But now it is looking more and more like a Bush “forever war”.
The Don has been tricked again - seems pretty to do despite him being king of the “art of the deal”.

I have been making many posts to this point. Strangle the mo-fo’s.
Take out Iran’s supply of refined products. That’s like taking away oxygen, for any country with any kind of modern, fossil fuels based transportation system. Iran is particularly vulnerable. Their sources are few (10-11 refineries that can crack crude oil - the rest are downstream operations) and Iran has under 1% “penetration” of EV’s. So, hit the crude oil distillation towers, any major storage, and a few import terminals. Cheap Ukie style drones will suffice for the towers and storage, and may even suffice for the import terminals depending on what sort of secondary explosions and fires can be set off. Otherwise, we have PLENTY of the mid-level munitions Trump mentioned yesterday, that will do the job on the terminals.
We are talking about under 100 very vulnerable targets — You don’t see too many distillation towers hundreds of feet underground, for example. No AD. The op should take a day, maybe 2 at worst.
FOCUS. We do not need to hit other crude oil infrastructure, bridges, power plants, etc. Nor do we need to kill 10’s of thousands of IRGC. It, like a hydra, just regenerates anyway. You’d think we’d have figured this out about terrorist organizations...
Of course, Iran will attempt to respond by hitting other Gulf countries oil infrastructure. So, we need to be pre-emptive. Those countries need to be told the best that can be done is for ALL of them to be ready to hit Iranian missile sites with everything possible, STAT - as soon as possible once launchers appear. The US needs to apply maximum surveillance: If we lose a few surveillance drones, so be it. Best would be if we as a group additionally had several million Ukie style drones in inventory. But, idiotically we do not, so we and they will have to do the best we all can, and tell those gulf allies we will do everything in our power to expedite repairs at their sites the Iranians succeed in hitting. As for ops responsibilities, these need to be carefully laid out so as to minimize, among other things, friendly fire.
You and I will likely need to bite the bullet on fuel prices and inflation, as much as I hate to say it, being in a bad way with living costs these days, anyway. (I blew too much money trying to help out my long lived parents in their final years.)
We also need to be ready to accept that a lot of Iranians who hate the mullahs and the IRGC are going to suffer, badly. When the time comes, a massive effort to get refined products, and likely food, back into the hands of the people, will be needed. For few weeks, at least, it will make any relief effort in the past look trivial

So, is it safe to say that you much prefer an Obama/Biden-like politician that carefully watches his parsed words, is pragmatic and smiles in your face, lies every time his lips move, and behind the scenes tries his very best to destroy you, other Americans and America, as founded? Sounds like.
That’s true, but two things can be true at once.
If you ARE fighting a war - authorized or not - there should be a clear path to victory.
It’s a little early to call it a forever war.
You represent what should be a large cohort of people criticizing me for the post. But apparently all of them agree with me--sadly.
But I don't want the cliche "boots on the ground" (not knocking you--it's a cliche because it's dumb enough to be popular with many people) I want "bombs on the ground."
The minute GW Bush ordered troops in I said to my wife "That's a tragic mistake. They should visit with bombs, not visit with troops." I was totally right and the war is used as an example of "stay out of somebody's else's war."
I do not believe you can finish a war without boots on the ground. There will always be another faction to take over IF you manage to physically kill the heads of the previous one.
Bombing with nothing else is merely distructive, takes a LOT of oil out of circulation.
I am not interested in “regime change” 10,000 miles away, but if I did, I would be more likely to pick another country in the region to be an allied hegemon (e.g. Turkey, UAE), knowing they would do it because of personal interest, and not because of shared values.

Take out Iran’s refined products supply. It is a relatively easy job, in and of itself. The country would collapse within a couple weeks.
That in and of itself does not get rid of the IRGC. First, we need to convince our Gulf State “allies” that they will be forever used as a bargaining chip by Iran’s threat to hit their infrastructure, water and oil, and they likely WILL be hit anytime the existing Iranian regime thinks it needs to remind them. Then, “everyone together now”, reduce Iran’s missile and launcher numbers as far as possible. If we had the Ukie style drones in Ukie style numbers, production of 10 million in 2026, or more, this could happen faster, but, DOD fumbled that ball, so we’ll have to do it the hard way.
Then take out the refined products and initiate the other measures you listed.
Sure, that would bring them down faster, but it would be at enormous and long suffering cost to the Iranian people. It would take them years to restore production.
If it is required to get rid of the Mullahs, then we should do it, but it should be a last resort.
Also, I bet a lot of people would freak out on the world markets because of that sudden and long term loss of the Iranian output, and like it or not, the World Markets have an impact on our domestic policies.
I personally think we should do the right thing regardless of how it might hurt us economically, but I very much doubt that sentiment is shared in the circles of power.
We have that version of ied now via drones. That's this generations upgrade and again, the US is lagging behind.
War creates innovation and tech. The US typically just throws money at a problem, aka expensive bomb or missile.
I would rather not, but then I would never have gotten involved in Ukraine to begin with. But we are so we need to decide. Do we allow Russia and China to keep Iran’s military afloat or not? Not saying drop bombs on Moscow and Beijing. Just saying give notice and let them figure out what we mean. We already support Taiwan, Japan and hold joint exercises with the Philippines and others. And as mentioned, supply Ukraine. Not sure the declaration changes much other than putting it all out in the open. Mostly diplomatic wordplay.
