I think Trump must know her thru Lindsey and think she will have his back.

Trump publicaly encouraged her to run at their meeting after she was sworn in.

Well well, so many FReepers told me to just be quiet because the little lady was just going to be awarded the seat she never earned out of all the love for her warmongering jerk brother for just a few months. 🤣🤣🙄

I knew those FReepers knew in their lil ole hearts that this was a big fat lie. Nepotism is really ugly sometimes. One of the reasons people hate our government at times.

Sorry, but she is being handed a huge advantage that she never earned. She has a right to run, but this is not the way to go about it.

The governor should have required a speech with the promise to not run for the seat before appointing anyone.

#11: "This is VERY bad. Women in the Senate are never a good idea."

Women in the Supreme Court are another very bad idea.

Graham’s machine and political operation will get behind her

They just want to continue what they’re doing in DC. I’m sad Trump will fall for their overtures

Gen. Blather has it right. Fresh blood required not some relation to the incumbent.

Mark Lynch would make a great senator

this is how Rhinos hold on. All widows such as Olympia Snow and Margaret Chase Smith get in and hang on forever.

That is what it is.

Pure nepotism.

I see no problem with her running. She will have to compete for this seat just like everyone else.

“I think the truth of the matter is that Darline has so far been off to a remarkable start,” Scott told reporters, asking about her as a possible special primary contender. “‘Why not her?’ would be my question.”

She will get Trump’s endorsement and won’t need to compete.

Wouldn’t Democrats be barred from the U.S. Senate race in what is like a second Republican primary since Lindsey won the first one?

I understand there will be problem with the Fry House seats if he becomes senator-elect. Does this mean a special election in February or March if Fry gets the nomination for the Senate?

I was totally lost by this post until I went to look at the candidate list. I had no idea Congressman Russell W. Fry has also thrown his hat in the ring.

He cannot run for two seats at once, so if he files to run (along with Ralph Norman) he will have to give up his house seat.

SECTION 7-11-10. Methods of nominating candidates.

(B) A candidate must not file more than one statement of intention of candidacy for a single office for the same election.

I quite frankly find it crazy that two sitting reps would do this.

” She will get Trump’s endorsement and won’t need to compete.”

Sure she does.
If President Trump endorses her and the voters trust his judgement and elect her, fine by me.

Is she 30 or above? Yes.

Is she a resident of the state? Yes.

Is she an American citizen? Yes.

Only qualifications required.

It’s up to the voters of South Carolina.

I don’t live there. Thus I don’t care.
