It’s all okay, as long as powerful people say so. I would vote against any spouse of relative of a deceased official, just on GP. We don’t have a monarchy, with Lords, Ladies and of course Ladies in waiting for their Brother to die.
Relax dude. She is running in the primary. Every citizen has the right to run for political office. The key is that people get to vote on it.

MANY voters will approach the notion of voting for her with the same attitude. So, they will scrutinize her pretty carefully. I certainly would. That’s a bit of a disadvantage, but OTOH she has the advantages of (last) name recognition and (potentially) Trump’s endorsement.
It is the job of the other candidates to show they are more qualified, have better ideas, and would represent the voters better than Ms. Graham would. If they don’t, that’s on them. I will grant you that conservatives too often put up candidates who would probably be at least a “B” in office, but are lousy at campaigning, debating, etc.
I really DO think that Trump, busy as he is, should have a good thorough discussion with her, perhaps with a couple advisors at his side, then consider seriously all the candidates who look “solid” to him, before giving her his endorsement for the run for the next full term.

I understand there will be problem with the Fry House seats if he becomes senator-elect. Does this mean a special election in February or March if Fry gets the nomination for the Senate?
There’s nothing to criticize here. It will be up to the voters of South Carolina to determine if she wins. Exactly as it should be.
I’m against political dynasties. We have a wonderfully large and deep bench of conservatives and we need new blood. A family member is likely to continue as things were in the past. Many companies I worked for benefited by staff turnover in the upper ranks. New ideas. New directions. Great profit. Politics would benefit from the same thing. The average age in the Senate is 64. I’d like to see a smattering of people in their thirties and forties at least.

Don’t be too sure, the SC legislature is captured by RINOs that have REFUSED to close the primaries.
Randfan - she has the same rights as ANYONE who meets the qualification requirements, and you know it. Stop pretending that being related to the prior officeholder is disqualifying.
Having typed that, I will also note that I do not favor a person who has zero legislative experience to be elected as a Senator, unless they bring substantial other experience to help them decide what the right thing is. I do not know anything about her except that she’s his sister.

She’s running in an OPEN primary, which means Democrats get to vote on it too. And they will be doing so in large numbers.
Still that’s the intention of the Founding Fathers for the Senate. I trust their judgement. The Senate speaks for the state as an institution and is not a glorified House seat with a 6 year term!
SC voters need to clean up their legislature.
I despise nepotism in any form. Is she qualified? If not, beat it!
I think as a business person, and my first question is what her qualifications are. Read her bio on Wiki, which may or may not be correct.
She has a BA in Sociology, and a MA in Rehabilitation Counseling. Since 2019 she has been commissioner and agency head of the SC Commission for the Blind.
As a Texan her being hired is not my choice, but potentially an impact if she votes… badly. That said, I respect her credentials but would rather see public sector leadership experience. Someone who understands trying to earn revenue in a competitive business, manage an organization, trying to earn sufficient profit (especially after taxation and government compliance), etc.
I’m also not seeing evidence if she’s MAGA,MAGA-curious, Republican-ish, RINO, or at worst, misguided enough to say “I want to reach across the aisle and find common ground” and not acknowledge they’re communists.
Hope S.C. voters do their homework and choose wisely.
